John 9 tells the story. Jesus spit on the ground, made some mud and put it on the eyes of a man who had been blind from birth. Then He sent him to the Pool of Siloam, and the man went, washed and CAME HOME SEEING (John 9:1-7)!
John even tells us what the name means: Siloam means “Sent” (John 9:7). And the story doesn’t end at the pool. When the Pharisees threw the man out, Jesus heard about it and found him (John 9:34-35). Then, still speaking with the Pharisees, He began talking about a thief, and about the shepherd who calls His own sheep by name (John 10:1-3).
Today’s verse comes from that very conversation. The man who was pushed out was found, and JESUS SAID HE CAME SO THAT HIS SHEEP “MAY HAVE LIFE, AND HAVE IT TO THE FULL” (John 10:10).
“The thief (Satan) comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I (JESUS) HAVE COME THAT THEY MAY HAVE LIFE, AND HAVE IT TO THE FULL.” John 10:10
There's nothing stingy about Jesus. When He told us why He came, He mentioned a thief first, someone who only ever comes to take. Then He spoke about Himself, and the difference couldn't be clearer. JESUS CAME TO GIVE, AND WHAT HE GIVES IS LIFE "TO THE FULL."
Just listen to what He says about His own in this same chapter. HE CALLS THEM BY NAME. HE LAYS DOWN HIS LIFE FOR THEM. NO ONE CAN SNATCH THEM OUT OF HIS HAND. ➡️And He's talking about YOU. If you ever wonder where you stand with Him, you can look right here.⬅️
The thief (Satan) still has a voice, though, and Jesus shows you how to recognize him. All he ever does is take. His (Jesus') voice may ask you to change, but He never comes to rob you. Every time He speaks, He's leading you toward life, and toward more of Him.
♥️➡️And that Voice belongs to the kindest, most generous Friend you'll ever have.⬅️
🙏 Prayer of the Day
LORD JESUS ,
I want to know Your Voice so well that I'd recognize it anywhere, from the very first word.
If other voices ever try to talk me out of THE LIFE YOU GIVE, KEEP ME CLOSE ENOUGH TO HEAR YOURS, AND GLAD TO FOLLOW WHEREVER YOU LEAD. ➡️THANK YOU for calling me by name, and for giving Your own life so I could truly live.⬅️ Whatever You want to say to me, I'm listening.
In YOUR PRECIOUS NAME, Amen.
Joshua 24:15
"But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. BUT AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSEHOLD, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.”

Naomi had moved to Moab with her husband and two sons during a famine, and there she lost all three (Ruth 1:1-5). When she came home to Bethlehem with her daughter-in-law Ruth, the whole town was stirred, and the women exclaimed, “Can this be Naomi?” (Ruth 1:19).
But her story didn’t end there. Ruth married Boaz, and when their son was born, the women told Naomi, “He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age.” Naomi took the baby in her arms. His name was Obed, and he became the grandfather of King David (Ruth 4:13-17).
Today’s verse says, “When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought me joy” (Psalm 94:19). Naomi’s bitter season ended with a baby in her arms and the women of Bethlehem praising God.
“The more you pray, the less you'll panic. The more you worship, the less you worry. You'll feel more patient and less pressured.”
“When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought me joy.” Psalm 94:19
Not every worry shows. Plenty of us have smiled, said "I'm fine," and carried on with the day, while inside, one anxious thought kept leading to the next, and the next. People see the smile. They don't see the what-ifs.
The writer of this psalm had been there. Just before this verse, he remembers saying, "My foot is slipping." ➡️But look what happened. God's comfort reached him deep inside, right where the worry was, and it did more than calm him down. It brought him joy. Not a brave face, but the real thing. And his troubles weren't even over yet. God met him in the middle of them.⬅️
That same comfort is there for you. Others may only see the smile, but God sees every what-if behind it, and He knows just how to reach you there. Whenever the worries start piling up, you can bring them to Him, just as they are.
➡️His comfort doesn't wait for the worries to leave. Neither does the joy.⬅️
🙏 Prayer of the Day
Dear GOD,
Thank You for being right here with me. On the days when my smile and my heart don't match, thank You for knowing the difference. And on the days when they do, thank You for that joy, too.
May my smile today come from the joy of being known by You.
And if worry ever starts to crowd it out, remind me that You haven't taken Your eyes off me, not even for a single moment.
In JESUS' NAME, Amen.

Thomas wasn’t with the others the first time the risen Jesus appeared to them. When they told him, he said, “Unless I see the nail marks in His Hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into His Side, I will not believe” (John 20:25).
A week later, Jesus came again and said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see My Hands” (John 20:27). Then He added words for everyone who would believe in Him later, you included: “blessed are those who have not seen AND YET HAVE BELIEVED” (John 20:29).
The wounds Jesus showed Thomas are the ones Isaiah wrote about in today’s verse: “by His Wounds WE ARE HEALED.” (Isaiah 53:5).
“The gospel is this: We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, YET AT THE VERY SAME TIME we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.”— Timothy Keller
Every hard word in today’s verse lands on Jesus. Every good word lands on us.
It should have been the other way around.
“We all, like sheep, have gone astray,” Isaiah says. We were the ones who wandered off, and still the Lord laid all our sin on Him.
He was willing.
He was wounded.
That’s how loved you are.
Every sin, big or small, went to the cross with Him, and that includes yours. There’s no punishment left over, waiting for you. It was all on Him.
Isaiah also says, "He “made intercession for the transgressors.” He prayed for people like us, the very ones who had wandered. And the One who was wounded for you is still praying for you today.
There’s healing here too. Whatever sin has broken, Jesus can mend, and He doesn’t stop halfway.
The wounds were His. The peace is yours.
🙏 Prayer of the Day
Father,
Thank You for Jesus. Thank You for His willing Heart and His wounded Hands, and for every prayer He has ever prayed for me.
Teach me to trust what He did more than what I feel. Let me come to You with my head up, just as I am, because of Him.
Thank You for the peace He made for me, and for the healing that comes through His wounds. I’m so glad to be Yours.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Ephesians 1:9-10
"He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ."
TRUTH!!!!!!
Everyone blaming Trump is missing the point and should be ashamed of themselves. He is our leader against the forces of madness -- and a large part of why we lost last night is because of lunatics like Tucker and MTG and Massie who tried to peel away his followers, as if THEY had better solutions. They are like Horatio Gates and Charles Lee who backstabbed Washington when things looked bad in late 1776. They refused to help him, hoping he would lose so that they could rise. THEY FAILED. And were ultimately humiliated. In the meantime Washington and his men suffered bitterly but fought on and on, praying that God would be with them, knowing that He was their only hope, because it was His battle and His cause, and they were obliged to fight on in that cause, knowing the ultimate results were in His hands. Samuel Adams and John Adams and many others never lost faith in the Sacred Cause and KNEW that if they fought on and prayed God would be with them. The United States did not come into the world because of people who were mostly concerned about gas prices. It came into the world because patriots loved liberty more than their own lives, who were willing to do the right thing and trust God with the results. Many sat on the fence as Washington and his troops suffered -- and many opposed him openly. We have many like that today, but in the end God needs his Gideon's 300 to fight on and do what is right. Are you part of that 300? Jesus is always and ever our only hope, and He calls us to fight for what is right as we look to Him. Just because things look bad now doesn't mean God has abandoned us. If you care more about gas prices than liberty and truth and justice, you're part of the problem. May this dark moment drive us to our knees in repentance and prayer to the One Who is our only hope, Who is the Author of Truth and Liberty -- and America. And may it lead us to political and cultural actions that restore our nation to the liberty we have lost. God has chosen President Trump for this hour. Pray for the nation and trust God to lead us on.
TRUTH!!!!!!!
Islam and Marxism are fundamentally incompatible w/ America. As they wax, America and liberty wane. So we are in an existential crisis, as I've said many times. The first was the Revolution. The second the Civil War. This is the third. Only God can save us from this, so we must repent of our sin and selfish short-sightedness in not voting, which enabled these twin evils to gain ground in our nation -- and we must repent of attending churches that turn a blind eye to the stark political realities we face. Many Christians tithe God's money to churches that refused to lift a finger in calling their people to stand against these evils in the ballot box. Do YOU go to a church that looks the other way? You are in sin. Over ninety percent of the pastors in the 13 colonies thundered against British tyranny before our Revolution and called their people to fast and pray against it, but the tyranny of Islam and Marxism is infinitely worse. Have we become so spoiled that we are unwilling to be courageous and stand against these evils which mean to devour our children and grandchildren? Does your church fast and pray for the nation? Or does your pastor not care enough about the nation to call you to fast and pray toward that end? Sometimes God's harsh judgement is what brings us to repentance and it seems that what we have allowed by our petulant indifference will bring some of that judgement. Only a sweeping revival of faith in Jesus can help us, but it is my firmest conviction that that is what lies ahead. In the meantime, fast and pray for the nation. God hears your prayers. It is His will that America be saved.
DID YOU KNOW?
Samuel’s mother, Hannah, had prayed for a son. When he was still young, she brought him to “the House of the LORD at Shiloh” (1 Samuel 1:24), where he grew up serving the Lord under Eli the priest (1 Samuel 2:11). “Each year his mother made him a little robe and took it to him” (1 Samuel 2:19).
One night, as the boy lay near the Ark of God, he heard someone call his name. Three times he went to Eli, thinking the old priest had called him, until Eli realized it was the Lord. Then the Lord came and stood there, calling as before, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel answered, “Speak, for your servant is listening” (1 Samuel 3:10).
Even as a child, Samuel heard God’s voice. As Jesus said in today’s verse, “the kingdom of heaven “belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14).
“If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it. If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.”— Max Lucado
Sooner or later, every little one announces it proudly: “I can do it myself!” Shoes end up on the wrong feet and buttons in the wrong holes, and we cheer them on anyway. That’s what growing up looks like.
Without realizing it, we can start to expect growing in faith to look the same.
One day, families brought their little children to Jesus, hoping He would bless them. The disciples tried to send them away, but Jesus wouldn’t hear of it.
“Let the little children come to Me,” He said, “and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Then He took the children in His arms and blessed them. He made room for the ones who depended on others for nearly everything.
There’s room for you, too. You can ask Him for help without apologizing for needing it, and tell Him about a small happiness without wondering whether it matters enough.
Children grow up and need us less. God’s children grow up and lean on Him more, and He never grows tired of it.
🙏 Prayer of the Day
Dear Lord,
What a joy to call You Father! Some days I’m just like a little one insisting, “I can do it myself,” when what I really need is Your help. Thank You for caring about the little things I sometimes hesitate to bring to You.
I want to share this day with You: what makes me smile, what I need help with, and the people I love. However old I grow, I never want to outgrow needing You. I love You, Lord.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
