Cosmos is strengthening its foundations. The next challenge: turning infrastructure into revenue for the Hub. ⚛️ ATOM tokenomics, a product roadmap, and broader IBC connectivity. What the latest Cosmos Quarterly reveals 👇 -- 1️⃣ 🧩 ATOM tokenomics: research completed Gauntlet’s work proposes three levers: • Adjust issuance around security needs • Encourage longer-term staking • Feed Hub revenue into the rewards cycle These are proposed changes, still awaiting public review and governance. -- 2️⃣ 🛤️ A roadmap built in stages The proposed sequence: • Issue a Hub-native asset and distribute it through IBC • Build indices and curated baskets • Add regulated tokenized assets • Combine those building blocks into financial products Each phase must prove itself before the next. -- 3️⃣ ⚙️ Where could revenue come from? Beyond product fees, the roadmap explores paid services run by validators: • Relaying • Cross-chain pricing • Accounting A potential new role for the active set—and a revenue model that still needs to prove demand. -- 4️⃣ 🗳️ Community review comes next A process post is expected around November 20. Reviews would begin in December and continue into January, with tokenomics first and the roadmap afterward. Separate proposals. Public discussion. Room to revise. No single all-or-nothing vote. -- 5️⃣ 🔐 Security took priority The quarter brought shared-code vulnerabilities and the Neutron governance attack. The Hub lost no funds, according to the report. Responses include signed binaries and stronger patch coordination. Post-quantum consensus-key support also shipped in the stack. -- 6️⃣ 🌉 IBC is expanding its reach An upcoming release aims to simplify connections across EVM networks and Besu through one CLI. Final testing and audits remain. ATOM trading and custody are live on Paxos.
