It took several days to count every ballot in 2020, and it’s very likely we won’t know the outcome tonight either. So please keep a few things in mind as you make your voice heard today: – Thousands of election workers around the country are working hard today. Respect them. Thank them.  – Don’t share things before checking your sources.  – Let the process run its course. It takes time to count every ballot.

Lots of testimony on AI. Nadella said it may cause the vicious cycle to get worse as Google has economic surplus to spend with publishers to lock up exclusive content. He described this as a "nightmare" that further entrenches Google's market power. /11

Quite, quite mad. Goodbye data interoperability. Even non-EU firms abide by GDPR when they count EU users as part of their client base. It's almost as bad as suggesting we should have a British internet that doesn't connect to anyone else. (That'll probably come soon.)

Just because it's impossible to have 5 billion consumer profiles (deduped) "doesn’t mean the lawsuit against Oracle doesn’t have merit." Good summary here - adexchanger.com/privacy/you-… #Oracle #datalawsuit

It’s not about choosing a single measurement method or metric to rally around as an industry. “We are looking to bring different measurement narratives together in one view.” @lara_iz, ITV.🙌 #ATSL21

I recommend this podcast--just discovered it. High energy, clever format where they strategise on an industry issue as though it's a campaign brief. Excellent episode here:
This week on The Good, The Bad & The Advertising, I chatted with Rosie Laurence, Chief Strategy Officer at Mindshare LATAM, about how we can tackle sexism in advertising. Check it out here: linktr.ee/TGTBATA
I am one of the skeptics quoted in this article. But I've still got my fingers crossed, in the hopes that publishers will have more options and competing platforms will have a fair chance. @Adweek @Lucy28Southern adweek.com/programmatic/goog…

Triopoly in adland. Amazon share of US digital ad market was 10% in 2020. They are taking search market share from Google and forecasted to take 19% of US search spend in 2021. @eMarketer expects Amazon’s US ad business to grow another 30.1% this year. emarketer.com/content/amazon…
