Just going to a farewell party for one of our pilots who suddenly decided to retire early. No reason.
Jonesy was the orange cat on the Nostromo in Alien (1979).
Ripley risked everything to get him off the ship.
Four different cats played him. The famous hiss was real: they hid a German Shepherd behind a screen and pulled it away so the cat would react.
He made it out with her, and we see him again in Aliens.
In a movie full of things that kill, he was the one thing that still felt alive.

In August 1941, Blackie, the shipβs cat of HMS Prince of Wales, approached the gangway during Winston Churchillβs Atlantic meeting with President Roosevelt. Churchill bent down to stroke him, creating a famous wartime photograph.
The crew renamed Blackie βChurchill.β He reportedly survived the battleshipβs sinking by Japanese aircraft that December and reached Singapore with the sailors.
But during the February 1942 evacuation, he went missing. His fate remains unknown.

Oh, another lefty artist who I've never interacted with or even encountered who has me pre-blocked. How does one maintain the energy for such behaviour?
I know myself and many others will remember him, yes, as Chekov in Star Trek... but will think the most fondly of him as Bester in Babylon 5.
Chekov, on the face of it, is a pretty bland role. Russian guy who does Star Trek stuff, okay. Bester was a *character*, he had soul.
Walter Koenig, who played Chekov in the original βStar Trekβ series and seven βStar Trekβ feature films, has died at 90.
