If you suffer from #endometriosis your voice matters when it comes to research, care pathways, treatment type/access & views held by all stakeholders in relation to the disease you have to live with. Don't feel drowned out by others with differing views. Be you, unapologetically.

Women make up more than half of Scotland’s population. So why do we face such unacceptable barriers to healthcare? It takes over 10 years on average to get an endometriosis diagnosis, despite a commitment to get that down to under 12 months. Made in 2021. 2021. But... 1/

Women shouldn't have to wait 10 years for an endometriosis diagnosis. Shouldn't struggle for menopause care. Shouldn't face postcode lotteries. Scotland no longer has a dedicated Minister for Women's Health. We still need one. Sign the petition: petitions.parliament.scot/pe…

New guidance for NHS to distinguish between troponin levels in men and women, as women have lower troponin levels and are routinely told they haven’t had a heart attack when they have 🤦🏻‍♀️ bhf.org.uk/what-we-do/news-f…

We're 51% of society. How is it not feasible for GPs to be trained in our bloody (often quite literally) health?
EXC: Just 51 Scottish GPs have completed a national menstrual health course. 51 out of 4,688. 1.1%. Women's health campaigners call it “genuinely shocking”. Ministers say a call for mandatory training not “practical or achievable”. For @heraldscotland heraldscotland.com/news/2651…

I think there should be an 'Endo Million'. A team of a million advocates 😊 #endometriosis
One NHS, many nationalities. Huge thanks to every single person who helps keep the NHS going 💙

Meanwhile in #Massachusetts – a task force has been created to prioritise #endo. Can we do the same thing in the UK? And fitting in with Mr #Burnham’s agenda, at a local level like they have in #NewEngland? #endometriosis

This is great to hear - but women need more than maternity services. Endometriosis diagnosis times are growing, HRT can still be difficult to get and too many of us are made to feel like time-wasters when we have legitimate concerns. Every nation needs a Women’s Health Minister
It’s a real honour to be appointed Health Secretary by Andy Burnham - 27 years after I worked on the first NHS Cancer Plan as a junior health minister. I’m looking forward to working urgently to improve maternity services, to take forward plans for social care, and to once again play a part in supporting our National Health Service, Labour’s proudest achievement. Most of all I’m looking forward to working with the dedicated NHS staff, carers, healthcare professionals and volunteers on whom we all depend. In leaving the FCDO, let me pay tribute to the brilliant diplomats and ministers I worked with at the Foreign Office, and to my fellow foreign ministers from across the world - for all the work we did together to support Ukraine, to recognise the State of Palestine, to keep the spotlight on Sudan and to treat violence against women and girls as the global crisis it is. The partnerships we build abroad make us stronger at home.

Chronic illness and daily exhaustion don't happen overnight. They are built slowly over years. As a doctor, here are 6 daily micro-habits I wish patients adopted long before they reach the hospital bed. 1. Wait 90 minutes for your first coffee.

One of the most fascinating discoveries in Endometriosis research is neurogenesis - the growth of new nerve fibers within and around lesions. This may help explain why some women experience severe pain despite having relatively small amounts of visible disease.

"It was destroying my insides, but because I didn’t have heavy periods, nobody cared" ⬇️💔 This is why I constantly try to raise awareness of the fact that you can have LIGHT periods or NO periods and still have terrible stage 4 disease #endometriosis edinburghlive.co.uk/news/edi…

It will be interesting to see what happens over the next 3 years in terms of how well the non-invasive tests perform & how it affects referrals, waiting lists & NHS capacity. Improving diagnosis + the system should go hand in hand #endometriosis

Recurrence in Endometriosis is more complex than many people realize. Sometimes new disease develops. Sometimes microscopic or deeply hidden disease was impossible to identify earlier. And sometimes fibrosis can conceal active disease.

I’ve tried hard to agree with this but I can’t. Maybe if women’s healthcare, research, etc hadn’t been neglected for centuries, if the playing-field even approached level, I’d change my mind. But until then, it’s a hard no from me bmj.com/content/394/bmj-2026…

This is addressing a v important downstream consequence, TY 💛 It's not a substitute for timely, effective healthcare. The best employment policy is a healthcare system that prevents people from becoming unnecessarily disabled by delayed diagnosis & treatment #endometriosis
I was pleased to chair the second session of the APPG Inquiry into Endometriosis in the Workplace this week. The discussion highlighted the significant challenges faced by women living with endometriosis at work and the vital role employers can play in supporting women
