âEthnocentrism, xenophobia and nationalism are these days rife in many parts of the world. Government repression of unpopular views is still widespread. False or misleading memories are inculcated. For the defenders of such attitudes, science is disturbÂing. It claims access to truths that are largely independent of ethnic or cultural biases.
By its very nature, science transcends national boundaries. Put scientists working in the same field of study together in a room and even if they share no common spoken language, they will find a way to communicate.
Science itself is a transnational language. Scientists are naturally cosmoÂpolitan in attitude and are more likely to see through efforts to divide the human family into many small and warring factions.

The biggest takeaway from the Epstein files is that it is a grotesque example of how power corrupts. The entire establishment system is rotten to the core - on all sides of the political spectrum. They think that they are above the law. A bunch of sick and twisted gilded individuals who are more concerned about their selfish and disgustingly depraved needs and who donât give a shit about improving society, while pretending that they do.
They use fake virtue as a masquerade to cover up a whole multitude of sins. And they get away with it because the entire system is tilted. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else.
Itâs about time that everyone stops being so subservient to these power mad, greedy, corrupt and deviant psychopaths and work together to genuinely try and change the system and drain the swamp.
As George Carlin once said:
âIt's a big club, and you ainât in it. You and I are not in the big club. And by the way, it's the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe. All day long beating you over the head in their media telling you what to believe, what to think and what to buy. The table is tilted folks. The game is rigged.
I'll tell you what they donât want: They donât want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They donât want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. Theyâre not interested in that. That doesnât help them. Thatâs against their interests.
They donât want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table to figure out how badly theyâre getting fucked by a system that threw them overboard 30 fucking years ago. They donât want that. You know what they want? They want obedient workers.â

The Epstein files make terrifying reading. Angering, depressing in equal measures.
A level of depravity, exploitation of innocent children, and callous manipulation and profiting from suffering of others that makes you despair for the world.
But itâs the collegiate nature of extreme wealth, power that is disturbing.
Despite the world knowing what Epstein was, when in their personal interests, thereâs nothing off limits, no boundaries theyâll apply, and with so many files yet uncovered, no end to the ugliness.
And still, many perpetrator names are redacted while victims have been exposed.
The question is whether extreme wealth and power corrupts, or whether the corrupt rise to extreme wealth and power, because the moral compromise of decision making is such that good people choose otherwise?
Both, it seems.
And we know that many of those named are held up as standards to follow, as models of âsuccessâ and lecture the world on morality, a cruel hoax.
The collective impunity, closing of ranks, failure to prosecute, lack of accountability of the powerful, different standards of justice and complicity of the system of power is the problem.
All of those directly implicated, who certainly all knew what Epstein was, yet continued to engage with him, must be held responsible. And not just them, but those around them who looked the other way.
And people everywhere need to consider what global organisation looks like in a world where this canât happen.
With the global order exposed and in flux, and the worldâs most powerful and most wealthy so clearly repugnant, change is necessary.
The point is not to expect better people, that is futile, but to create a better system.
And if it canât be done to protect innocent children, thereâs something wrong with all of us.
