Have you ever opened an app just to keep your streak alive? Or felt terrible when you forgot? My new paper with @alixb221 in @JCRnews examines how streaks – 3 or more behaviors in a row – influence consumer motivation and behavior. bit.ly/3ydZqVI 1/3

Why is high "exponential numeracy" (the ability to understand exponential growth) important, especially for folks working in public health and #epidemiology? A🧵1/6 @EricMVanEpps @ME_Schweitzer sciencedirect.com/science/ar…

On the second-to-last weekend before taxes are due, let’s remember: tax prep corporations like @TurboTax & @HRBlock have used deceptive tactics to wring money out of consumers’ wallets & used their fat profits to lobby Washington to make tax filing as hard as possible.

Super cool to position animation as something that kids watch and adults have to endure

I know most won’t read past a headline but please read my veto letter—especially if you disagree with me. The veto will be overridden on Friday and then we will have a special session to fix a few things. Trans sports is a terribly difficult issue. Please be kind to everyone. 1/

🚨I wrote about immunocompromised people—what they’ve been through, their frustrations, and their hopes. This is a plea to think about those who don’t get to be done with the pandemic, and to prioritize them as a matter of moral and medical urgency. 1/ theatlantic.com/health/archi…

Since Pfizer has said that the data on two doses does show an adequate immune response in kids 6 months-2 years (but not 2-5), does anyone have a good answer as to why the FDA isn't authorizing it for that age group?

Ordering the free COVID-19 rapid antigen self-tests took less time than creating this tweet. Go to covidtests.gov -- it's that easy.

Another excellent article by @zeynep on how the CDC has let us down. A lot seems to come down to CDC officials making psychological assumptions rather than being straight with people. 🧵 nytimes.com/2022/01/05/opini…

Be mad at Manchin, who didn't bargain "in good faith" as he claimed. Acknowledge that progressives were right about what would happen if infrastructure passed first. But save hottest ire for 50 GOP senators who'd rather deny Biden a win than help families and save the planet.
