It doesn’t matter who United hire, I’ll back him 100% & want him succeed. From Moyes to Amorim. That’ll never change. I’m fed up of seeing them fail, but the club have gotta give Carrick the best possible chance. The squad needs big investment or he’ll fail. It’s that simple.

It’s just nice to see Utd win, & in the most typical old school Utd way. I’d like to say I hope this changes Utd’s fortunes this season, but I’m not naive. It’s still a huge mess from top to bottom but at least we’ve got a tiny glimmer of encouragement to take into the weekend.

Shea Lacey… Game changer. Did more in that cameo than Amad for large parts of 2026.

Just imagine the goosebumps and hairs standing up on his neck coming out to this? 😲 This is dopamine level extreme. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
I’ll never have a second team but if I did it would be Bayern Munich after playing ‘Land of Hope and Glory’ on German soil to salute Harry Kane. Lots of stadiums in England wouldn’t play it for risk of offending someone…so hats off to Bayern! 🫡 🇩🇪 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🤝

40 years ago, going by the logic of some on here, Utd stand by Big Ron and “give it more time” than hire Alex Ferguson. Admittedly Big Ron had over 5 years in charge compared to Carrick’s 10 months, but Utd were 19th in a then 22-team league, with 13pts from 13 games!
Manchester United’s hierarchy privately pledged to try to get to the November international break before having to act on Michael Carrick’s position. Getting beaten at Stamford Bridge in their next fixture surely had to be baked into that thinking. But, once again, the question bears considering because their latest defeat keeps United on the brink of the relegation zone. Not since November 1986 have United been in the bottom three past August. That was the month, 40 years ago, that Ron Atkinson’s dismissal as manager led to the arrival of Alex Ferguson. 📝 @lauriewhitwell 🔗 nyti.ms/4yQ1cJT

It’s a dangerous logic some have in thinking they’d take Utd going down to get rid of the owners. There’s nothing to suggest they’d sell up if Utd were relegated. The Championship is a rough league & Utd could stay down for years. I wouldn’t fancy this bunch in the lower leagues
Manchester United need to be freed of the yoke of the Glazers. That’s obvious. Been saying it since 2005. But how? It’s difficult to force regime change. A few United fans suggesting they’d welcome relegation as it would make the Glazers consider selling up. It might make them more likely to hold on as a PL club worth far more than EFL. A few fans suggesting a boycott of games - but why should loyal fans stop watching their team? And the club could simply get tourists in if a few games missed. A boycott of the megastore and catering is obvious (and already done by some fans) but that would also hit staff and temporary workers. Chants and banners make a point to the world how reviled the absentee Glazers are. But probably won’t worry the distant Glazers. They can point to money invested in transfers (and spent badly) but it’s not their personal money. It’s money generated by the fans. United have some very influential fans’ groups, fanzines, forums and pods. Would lobbying the Independent Football Regulator about whether the Glazers are “fit and proper owners” (in old parlance) have any effect? At the very least, there is a strong case for lobbying the IFR and Government about updating legislation to preclude debt-based takeovers (the IFR has an advisory role to Parliament). It’s certainly a national embarrassment that the most high-profile representative of the national sport has such substantial debt and such deeply unpopular owners associated with it. Sadly, like a stubborn stain, the Glazers will take some shifting. #MUFC

If he’s regarded as a senior player, then all hope is lost 😂 Useless beyond useless this fella.
Diogo Dalot when asked as one of the senior #mufc players what he can do to turn this around: “Tomorrow, try to give my best. Always fight for the club and try to match the standards that we should have every single day. And then on the pitch, give everything for the club.” [@stadiumastro]

Put the man out of his misery! Cowards with no plan whatsoever but hope in a miracle that’s not gonna happen.
🚨 BREAKING: Manchester United’s hierarchy privately PLEDGED to try to get to the international break before having to ACT on Michael Carrick’s position during crisis talks in the wake of the Bournemouth loss. #MUFC [@lauriewhitwell]

At least some idiot from the club should release a statement to admit mistakes have been made and there’s been a serious case of misjudgment in the summer. At least someone would be taking some accountability for this. The club fucked up and we’re heading for catastrophe.

Berrada and Wilcox are a pair of cowards & should be ashamed of themselves. They’re as disgraceful to this club as those players are. They’ll just carry on hiding behind Carrick & let him be the fall guy for their masterpiece. Have some f***ing balls! At least man up for once.

Listening/reading Carrick’s comments are brutal to hear/see at the moment. It’s like an MP hanging on for dear life but you know it’s all over for them. You think someone do the honourable thing & get rid, or step down. Carrick is lost & this club’s hiding behind him. Cowards.

The mess we’re seeing from Utd isn’t all on Carrick and I do feel for him. However, Utd are going to have to get rid of him to save the club from going down. That’s where we’re heading to. Utd need a smart tactician & a big personality to galvanise these idiots. Harsh reality.

Martinez wants out. I think he wanted out in the summer & he’s been told he’s not having his contract extended next year. He’s been shit for the best part of 3 years to be honest, but this season has been a whole new level of incompetence. However, he’s only one of many clowns.

Apparently today is the 341st competitive game Luke Shaw has missed for United since he signed for the club. 😂

Remember the 3-0 win away at Brighton, last game of the season, just 5 months ago? Utd were fantastic that day. There was a good vibe running through the club. The fans had some belief. From that, to this. It’s astonishing how all that’s been completely dismantled, & so quickly.

Make no mistake about it, this club knows Carrick & his team are done. They’re only delaying the inevitable. These players have already jacked it in under them. This’ll continue to go from bad to worse & all we can do is watch it continue spiralling down. The club reeks.

I don’t think people realise how dark things would’ve been for us if we never signed Bruno Fernandes.

Honestly, I think the majority would rather stick with Carrick. This automatically creates further discord and disgruntlement as that majority do not want Howe.
Understand Eddie Howe is the leading candidate to replace Michael Carrick, should he be sacked. Probably the sensible pick. But how much would actually change? #MUFC inews.co.uk/sport/football/m…

I got why the club gave the job to Carrick. He did a good job last season & the numbers backed it up. He earned a shot at it. They banked on him delivering again with the same team, no sales, coping with European football, without the adequate reinforcements. The gamble failed.
