Cosmic Ladybug WIP (2024)
It has been a while since my last scan, but I made quite a bit of progress in the last week! It feels like the end is finally approaching!
My wife trying to position Gimli and Mowgli for a picture. I think we failed successfully. 🤭
Photo taken with a 1960 Kuribayashi C.C. Petri Orikkor 50mm ƒ/2.
Autumn Blues
Photo taken with a 1940s–1960s ZOMZ KO-90 90mm ƒ/1.9 projection lens.
Actually, I manually focus-stacked four photos to get a slightly deeper depth of field.
Location: Bronte Creek Provincial Park
I tried to photograph the top of Misha’s head because his fur sparkled gold in the sunlight. Then he suddenly looked up at me, revealing these creepy, constricted pupils!
It was so striking, because his pupils are usually so dilated that he looks like a cartoon character. 🤭
I hurt myself in the most ridiculous way.
I was vigorously washing my face in the shower when, on an upstroke, my pinky went straight up my nose. 😆
If you’ve seen my nails, you can imagine how deep it went!
I spent 30 seconds moaning in pain before bursting into laughter.
A fairly disappointing Moon photo from last night. I couldn’t find the magnification button in the dark, so I didn’t get the focus right…
Still, it’s surprising how much detail you can pull from the data with some processing, as you can see in the first image.
Peachy
Photo taken with a 1956–1957 Leidolf Wetzlar Lordon 50mm ƒ/1.9.
The smooth background rendering makes this lens quite ideal for abstract close-up photos.
I picked up my daily walking routine again, I work out daily, and I’ve rigorously followed my diet for over a week now, and it’s paying off!
I lost 1.7 kg the first week, and another 2.7 kg this week.
I have a long way to go to reach my target weight, but I feel positive!
Pelargonium Petals & Purple Echoes
Photo taken with a 1956–1957 Leidolf Wetzlar Lordon 50mm ƒ/1.9 on a 25–55 mm helicoid.
Beechnut in the Limelight
Photo taken with my Samsung Galaxy S21+ with a 1954–1956 ISCO–Göttingen Kiptar 45mm ƒ/1.6 held in front of the camera.
I went to Niagara-on-the-Lake, but when I arrived, I realized I had forgotten my camera’s SD card. So I used my phone instead…
Wait, you think puberty is delayed indefinitely? What are you smoking?

If it's not the choice of the subject, then it's a crime. "Force". What an interesting word choice.
If someone doesn't go through puberty, then it wasn't merely a pause.
Dehydrangea
Photo taken with a 1950–1951 Meyer-Optik Görlitz Primoplan 58mm ƒ/1.9.
I was taking photos of this dried-out brown hydrangea against a vibrant red leaf, but I unexpectedly ended up capturing a wide range of colors!
Photo taken with a 1958–1961 Leotax Leonon 5cm ƒ/2.
I recently put a bouquet of flowers together with interesting colors and textures that would make for an interesting photo subject. Now the flowers are withering, but the textures have definitely gotten even more interesting!
Wow, such a magnificent typeface! And it features three sets of capitals that dramatically influence the style.
I really like how the regular Fraktur capitals combine with the simplified capitals; it creates a capital/small-caps hierarchy while maintaining the same cap height.
