Precedent - a year ago, Azovites in the Third Army Corps kidnapped, tortured and extorted civilians as part of the 'mobilization process' in western Ukraine.
One of those arrested (probably soon released) was Azovite commander Alexei Kozhemyakin (pictured), who moved from Russia in 2014.
Tortured deserters and beaten children in a secret Azov facility. Intestines dripping onto mattresses, nationalist thugs, hundreds of civilians destroying police cars and throwing eggs and spitting at Azov military heroes.
As usual, it’s all the Russians’ fault. Or is it?
I collected all videos and statements on what happened here, along with analysis of the competing theories of what happened. It doesn't look good for those Ukrainians and western 'analysts' with such high estimates of Russian psyop capabilities.

The 14 year old boy that Ukrainian and western infowarriors are saying is a 'paid actor' gave his first statement from hospital.
First, he shows his cut-up fingers. Then, trying hard to speak Ukrainian, he describes what happened after Azovites guarding their torture dungeon pushed him in with a shovel.
He says he was dragged deep into the building by 10 masked men in black without chevrons. They beat and kicked him, dragging him by the hair, while continuing to hit him with a shovel. Then they interrogated him with his face down on the ground but he couldn't hear anything because they beat his head so much. Then they picked him up by the hair and threw him into the wall. Then they beat him some more, breaking some of his teeth and leaving him with a bloody nose.
He couldn't see anything and was convinced that when Budanov came, they were going to torture him to death
Sober analysis from voices on the ground

The second most powerful man in Azov from 2014-22 was a Russian citizen who only came to Ukraine in 2014. Many other such cases in Azov. The 'Patriot of Ukraine' and 'Social Nationalist Party of Ukraine', the precursors to Azov, existed from the 1990s onwards.
Some identify similarities between Ukraine’s Azov and Palestine’s Hamas. Having established this identity, one can then berate those of leftwing persuasions who ‘support Palestine but not Ukraine’.
This is how the argument goes. Why oppose military aid to the Ukrainian resistance (army) while also loudly supporting the Palestinian resistance (Hamas)? Azov is right-wing, but so is Hamas. If Hamas’s politics can be found tolerable given its struggle against imperialism, why not accept some of the distasteful aspects of Azov? Why support peace through compromise in Ukraine but militant resistance in Palestine?
So, is Palestine Ukraine, and Israel Russia? Yes, on condition that: A) Hamas emerged from the Zionist movement. B) Hamas was filled with Jewish Israelis in its top ranks. C) Hamas leaders and operatives largely spoke Hebrew and assassinated those excessively defending the Arabic language. D) Hamas propaganda called to save the Judeo-Christian world from the brown hordes invading Europe.

Some infowarriors (and politicians) are displeased by the ceasefire and civilian evacuation of Oleshky. The spectre of peace is just too much for them, however small. Many in Ukraine, however, are less terrified by fruitful negotiations with Russia.

I have never said that everyone wants to be annexed by Russia. Quite the opposite. I am more than happy that people can return to Ukraine. Why can't people be happy about this event instead of criticizing it in every way possible?
1 - AI
2 - the famously pessimistic Russian milblogger Romanov made the claim about 17/4 trucks, which would mean a total of ~1200 people evacuated. He then deleted the post.
But Melania Trump said that 750 people were evacuated. Why would Melania be undercounting how many people she helped save?
Anyway all this arguing over who went where is so sad. Why not just be happy that civilians were given the choice to leave a warzone?
