Between long-term capital gains tax (LTCG) and securities transaction tax (STT), there is a strong economic case for eliminating STT. Our 2016 study found that STT in India reduced institutional trading, liquidity and price efficiency, consistent with international evidence. STT taxes transactions even when investors lose money. A moderate, well-designed LTCG tax can coexist with efficient markets. If one of them has to go, STT should go first.

One in four iPhones is made in India, but imported parts and costly subsidies complicate the success story. @andymukherjee70 takes apart an iPhone to explain why copying China's manufacturing model may not pay off 🎥

Pakistan in comparison to India currently has: - more self-propelled artillery units (662 vs 100) - more MLRS (652 vs 300) - more AIP SSK (3 legacy+1 incoming Hangor+7 on order vs 1 Kalvari incoming refit) - more AWACS (9 Erieye + 4 ZDK-03 vs 3 Netra + 3 A50) - about the same number of refuellers (4 vs 4-6) - more ESM/EW (4 vs 0) - more AESA+BVR fighters (20 J-10CE + 30 JF-17 Block III = 50 vs 36 Rafale) It should not even be a comparison. Indian industrial capabilities far outshine Pakistan in every way as does the military budgets. Yet here we are. One should also keep in mind that Pakistan is much smaller and has a far smaller area to defend than India. Unlike India which has two nuclear powers, Pakistan only has one serious militarized border (Iran and Afghanistan are nothingburgers). Here's what has happened: China in the last 10 years has become an industrial behemoth and Pakistan can just get things from China. In the mean time, Modi administration has slept on critical military projects. For all the bravado of Nationalism, Modi has been worse on the military than majority of Indian leaders. He has caused the greatest decline in relative military power in modern day. History will judge him harshly if a war breaks out.
India is racking them up under @narendramodi The Pakistanis already have more AEW, SPG/MGS, ISTAR etc than India. Soon they’ll have more AIP equipped SSK etc

- So 100 + 100 + 335 K9 that's excellent numbers for a 155x52 cal SPH. - But we had more than enough time to develop an IDDM IP owned SPH for the 335 instead of buying from our rival in defexports. Perhaps we still can do it. - KSSL / Bharat Forge & DRDO had kinda hinted at SPH development:xitter.cf/AdithyaKM_/status/1943… - DAC decisions aren't final. L&T should be rewarded but not necessarily Hanhwa. - But then L&T's IDDM Zorawar will get 18 Mk1 + 41 Mk1A "don't lose heart" orders. Meanwhile their licensed production gets rewarded with orders, what message are we sending exactly: 2017 - ~₹4500 cr for 100 2024 - ₹7629 for 100 2027-28? - ₹20,000 cr for 335? (And the reported figure of ₹20,000 cr is definitely not accurate imo esp after higher IC%, inflation, rupee depreciation..) - The reported ~70% IC even at 535 units is not good enough by any measure. - Still not sure why we haven't gone for the K10 ammo resupply vehicles, probably a USP of the K9 & we havent gone for it atleast in a minimal manner. - We'll probably be inducting K9 when 🇰🇷 reaches K9A3 & continues to be an export hit instead of competing with them?
With many 🇮🇳 K9 SPH now meant for high-alt use & not deserts, a review of net tracked SPH reqmt of 300 is due. Currently 200 ordered/delivered, 🇮🇳 may need ~200 more? Can be IDDM: Zorawar & ATAGS may be a good match with export potential. DRDO, L&T, KSSL, TASL have reqd know-how.

They could've made HAL to share IP with pvt so pvt can build a multi role version based on LUH. With that you'd have platform similarity while having diversification Who am I to question. I am a bloody civilian after all.
Rs 20,000 crore LMRH programme cleared by DAC today to replace Cheetah Chetaks in Army IAF. Tata-Airbus , Adani Leonardo front runners in the project which will be split between the L1 and L2. Great idea to have three different types of choppers in light category . Read @qni story aninews.in/news/national/gen…

when the shitheads want capacity and cannot get approvals in their own countries they turn towards india to build it for them !! but when we ask the same for electronics or critical minerals they start acting up all weird
🇯🇵 ADB and Japan have signed a $100 million financing agreement for AM Green Ammonia’s green ammonia plant in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. ▫️Capacity: 1.095 million tonnes per year across two phases. ▫️The project will convert an existing natural gas-based ammonia and urea facility to produce green ammonia using renewable energy. #AndhraPradesh

People allege that NITI doesn't put in intellectual efforts but I have found their reports far more insightful than pre eras. In their industry reports, they exactly map out the gaps in supply chain, best practices across world & contextualise for ind.
