Remember when teams didn't want to sign Colin Kaepernick because they didn't want the distraction?
Andy Reid just took five straight minutes of questions for a practice squad kicker who missed more than 25% of his FGs the last time he was in the league.
#Chiefs HC Andy Reid faced five straight minutes of questions about Justin Tucker today, including what message his signing sends to female fans of the team.
"He's done his suspension. Took care of his business there. I'll leave it at that."

Malcolm Gladwell just published a new book and gone on one popular show after another arguing that the U.S. needs to massively expand the profitable police surveillance state. The entire argument is based on an embarrassing factual error.

Currently, 4,000 LAPD employees have access to search the ALPR database. There’s no serious process to vet which of these employees actually need access. LAPD requires no external, independent auditing of these ALPR database searches.
Last night in south LA, police shot at a car with four people in it. The LAPD refuses to arrest or identify the shooters.

Near 96th Street and Pace Avenue, the driver abruptly stopped, and an officer-involved shooting occurred. Two occupants fled on foot; the other two remained in the vehicle and were taken into custody without incident.
Last night in east LA, police shot a man. The LASD refuses to arrest or identify the shooters.

Not a single LAPD received a sustained complaint over cops violating protesters or press at last year’s ICE protests.
This is despite the federal courts finding so much abuse against press that they issued a restraining order against the LAPD.

“Last month, LAPMA made its biggest single political contribution ever: donating $100,000 to a political action committee sponsored by the LAPD officers’ union, which also opposes Raman.
In keeping with California election laws, LAPMA promptly disclosed the $100,000 contribution in a filing to the Secretary of State. But there was a problem: The person who signed the paperwork, David Lara, has been dead since 2024, following complications from esophageal cancer.”
Trouble in LA’s deep state: the union that represents managers in LA city government has listed a dead man as their political committee treasurer for 2+ years and failed to disclose tens of thousands of dollars in political donations.
And the union is being sued over alleged “financial irregularities” including $3.7M in unpaid dues

LAPD Chief McDonnell had the DA charge the whistleblower w/16 felonies, but let bigot keep his job. Should Chief McDonnell be fired?

LAPD cop sexually violated a woman he previously put on a 5150 mental health hold. Chief Moore sustained the complaints against him. Jim McDonnell reopened the case 2 years later and ruled allegations were “Demonstrably False.”
Should McDonnell be fired?
Keep in mind, this is what the internal investigation found:
“Espadas, although little time on the job, should have known off-duty contact with as individual he placed on a 5150WIC Hold was inappropriate and would not be tolerated. It is this type of nefarious behavior in which this Command cannot trust Espadas with the responsibilities and prudence associated with the demands of a public servant. Furthermore, there is a level of deceit and nefarious activity that Espadas would obtain [the victim’s] cell phone number without her consent and contact her upon her release from a 5150WIC Hold.
Lastly and equaling troubling, is Espadas request to watch having sex with a dog. The request is not only disturbing but akin to criminal behavior. Espadas behavior is clear and undeniable misconduct. His actions violate the most basic tenets of civic duty and causes undeniable harm in eroding the public trust.”
Wrote about LAPD cop Gabriel Espadas trying to force a woman in mental health crisis to have *sex with a dog.*
This came after he fisted and anally penetrated her.

It’s been over 4 years since I requested @bakersfieldpd’s department headshots. I recently called them to ask for an update and they said they had no update and that it would be completed when it’s completed.

Federal judge issued a restraining order against the LAPD for beating and violating press. LAPD Chief McDonnell followed up by saying when his cops violate the restraining order it’s “non-disciplinary.”
How is that acceptable? Should the Chief be fired?
