A Letter to the Tanssi Community Following the announcement of the acquisition of Tanssi’s intellectual property and technology by Canopy we have a very important announcement to Tanssi’s community. After months of evaluating potential paths forward, including collaborations, restructuring options, and alternative strategies, we reached the conclusion that we do not see a responsible path to continue operating the network. As a result, the Foundation currently intends to shut down Tanssi Network, with decommissioning of core network and bridge operations expected on or around June 30, 2026 — and possibly sooner. Tanssi wasn’t just a protocol to us. It was years of our lives. Late nights debugging, early mornings on calls across time zones, endless whiteboard sessions about how appchain infrastructure should actually work. We believed, deeply, that appchains would become a foundational layer of web3. We believe developers deserved better tooling. We believed we could build it. And we did build it. We shipped mainnet. We brought TANSSI to major exchanges. We attracted builders, committed node operators, and a community that showed up in ways that genuinely humbled us. But building great technology isn’t always enough. Market conditions changed significantly, and the competitive landscape evolved in ways that materially affected the network’s ability to continue. After evaluating a range of potential paths forward, including partnerships, restructuring options, and alternative strategies, we concluded that continuing operations would not be responsible. So here’s what’s happening, and what you need to do. -- ⚠️ ACTION REQUIRED — DON’T WAIT FOR JUNE 30, 2026 The Foundation currently expects to discontinue core network operations on or around June 30, 2026, including Foundation-supported bridge functionality and other operational support. Please don’t count on everything staying online right up to that date — a wind-down like this can move faster than planned, and services and interfaces may become limited or unavailable earlier, with or without notice. Complete all unstaking, liquidity withdrawal, and asset bridging as soon as you can. Delays may occur due to unbonding periods, network conditions, third-party interfaces, fees, slippage, or other technical factors. Assets that are not successfully withdrawn or bridged before decommissioning may be permanently inaccessible, the Foundation will have no ability to recover them and, to the extent permitted by law, cannot be responsible for assets left on the network or for any losses that occur along the way — everything here is provided on an as-is basis, and acting on these steps is ultimately your own responsibility. We therefore strongly encourage all users to act immediately and to verify that each transaction has completed successfully. One thing to be clear-eyed about: a shutdown like this can significantly affect TANSSI’s price and liquidity, and its value could fall sharply, including to little or nothing. The steps below are only to help you access and move your own assets — they aren’t a suggestion to buy, sell, or hold anything, and nothing here is financial or investment advice. Keep in mind, too, that Uniswap, any centralized exchanges, the bridge interface, and your own wallet are run by independent third parties, not the Foundation, so please follow their instructions and use them at your own discretion. Please take the following steps immediately: 1. UNSTAKE YOUR TANSSI TOKENS If you have TANSSI staked in any form, including delegation or validation-related staking, initiate unstaking immediately. Unbonding periods and other timing constraints may apply, so this should be your first step. Please review the applicable unstaking timeline and confirm once your tokens are available for transfer. apps.tanssi.network/stake 2. WITHDRAW FROM LIQUIDITY POOLS If you have provided liquidity in any pool involving TANSSI or other Tanssi-based assets, remove your liquidity as soon as possible using the interface through which you originally provided it or the relevant supported interface. BRIDGE EVERYTHING TO ETHEREUM Once your tokens or assets are available for transfer, bridge any supported assets to Ethereum mainnet as soon as possible using the official bridge. Bridge availability is expected to end as part of the network decommissioning process. Before relying on any transfer, verify on-chain that the transaction has completed successfully and that the assets have arrived at the destination wallet. apps.tanssi.network/bridge 4. ADDITIONALLY: If your TANSSI is held on a centralized exchange, please follow that exchange’s instructions. If you are a validator, operator, or infrastructure provider, please refer to the separate operator shutdown guide. If you are a developer or application team with assets, contracts, or infrastructure dependencies on Tanssi, please contact the Foundation immediately through the official support channels. If you are unsure whether any assets remain on Tanssi, verify your balances and activity before the shutdown date. -- Our team intends to provide active support through our official Discord and Telegram channels until the referred date as users complete these steps.
