How a 2014 green-screen project with a Governor predicted the ultimate future of human memory.

That is then-Governor (now U.S. Senator) John Hickenlooper on stage at the Colorado Innovation Network (COIN), having a real-time conversation with his own digital twin.
Twelve years ago, I headed up this project implementation for Comcast while leading a team at Sparks Grove (a North Highland company).
It wasn't AI yet.
It was an intricate puzzle of deep scripting, meticulous green-screen pre-taping, and synchronized timing to coordinate a live discussion between the binary and non-binary versions of him.
The illusion was flawless, and the audience was captivated. But for me, it planted a permanent seed: If we can engineer the simulation of a human conversation using basic code and timing, what happens when technology catches up to our wildest imaginations? That question became one of my underlying drivers for FAIM.
Today, FAIM is building net-new value across youth and professional sports, music and entertainment, global pageantry, and culture. We use digital signatures, personal photos and human-created imagery to turn fleeting live moments into premium collectibles. And soon, our AI Engine will allow anyone to create their own collectibles for sharing with fans, friends and family. But our ultimate macro-destination is vastly broader than sports memorabilia or professional entertainment.
We are in the business of infinite memory preservation.
All of us will have the ability to engineer a future where "goodbye" is no longer an absolute terminus. By cataloging our voices, securely storing family discussions, and preserving high-definition visual footprints, we can immortalize ourselves for our future generations.
Centuries from now, your descendants won't just look at names on a faded digital family tree. They will sit down and have an active, responsive, real-time conversation with you.
The tech stack required to scale this vision will sound like science fiction to most, just as our 2014 green-screen project did back then:
Decentralized Storage: Safeguarding family data across globally distributed nodes. Orbital Authentication: Verifying identity and access through space-supported networks to ensure un-hackable data integrity. Nanotechnology Integration: Eventually embedding deep storage arrays into everyday physical items—from the glass in our windows to the very tables we gather around to eat.
Technology will evolve, storage mediums will change, and data will move to the stars.
But the underlying emotional pulse of this computing power remains beautifully human: nothing will ever replace a great conversation with Great-Great-Grandad. And yes, getting a fresh, custom-signed physical portrait of him to hang on your living room wall is pretty cool too.
