After an @FBIBaltimore @OIGatHHS investigation, a jury found 42-year-old Patrick Britton-Harr of Annapolis guilty of fraudulently billing Medicare more than $18 million for expensive respiratory tests that nursing home residents did not need, physicians did not order, and, in many cases, were never performed. He used the proceeds from his fraud scheme to fund a lavish lifestyle, purchasing, among other things, a $112,500 Porsche 911, and making $25,000 monthly mortgage payments on his Annapolis waterfront mansion. To protect yourself from becoming a #victim, you must understand, secure, and maintain your digital profile. Be familiar with and routinely check privacy settings to protect your privacy and limit Internet-enabled crimes. If you are the victim of a cyber-enabled #crime, file a report with the Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov as soon as possible.

The #FBI has had a primary role in bank robbery investigations since the 1930s, when John Dillinger and his gang were robbing banks and capturing the public’s attention. In 1934, it became a federal #crime to rob any national bank or state member bank of the Federal Reserve System. The law soon expanded to include bank burglary, larceny, and similar crimes, with jurisdiction delegated to the FBI. FBI Baltimore retweeted
Thousands of North Korean IT workers are infiltrating companies across the world, generating millions of dollars for the North Korean regime and gaining access to sensitive corporate networks. Posing as legitimate remote employees, they use stolen identities, earn salaries from unwitting companies, exploit their access to steal data, and funnel their earnings back to North Korea. The scheme relies on a network of facilitators – including Americans – who are paid to appear on camera, participate in job interviews, verify fraudulent identities, and keep employment-related devices connected to the internet at personal residences. U.S. companies should recognize the scale and persistence of the threat and review our updated @FBI PSA for mitigation guidance: ic3.gov/PSA/2026/PSA261013
