It is important to create a system where curriculum, standards, & testing are not intertwined w/ fed govt. Common Core created that link. AP CLASSES & STANDARDIZED TESTING were totally to the detriment of students under CCSS. This is good 1st step.

Common Core has failed teachers, parents, and our children. That’s why I am issuing an Executive Order to eliminate Common Core in Florida. We will streamline standardized testing, make civics a priority in schools and increase the literacy rate.

School yr is starting for K-12. PARENTS, you've a right to look at child's records. Anything PREJUDICIAL needs removal. Sometimes teachers do it out of laziness/prejudice, but MOSTLY out idea to help next yr teacher. Regardless, anything removing HOPE from child is unacceptable.
School is starting for school year 2018-19. Remember to support students in success, congratulate them on - their hard work, positive attitude, perseverance, and enthusiasm for learning. NEVER GIVE UP ON ANY CHILD.
