Football has made it known. It is not there for Jews, Israel, and humanity when it needs its support. On the 7th of October, the international terrorist organization Hamas launched a gruesome attack on the villages and towns in southern Israel. Men, women, and children were slaughtered, maimed, shot, butchered, raped, and beheaded. Whereas governments across the world have condemned the barbaric actions, football has bewilderingly stayed silent. Football is quick to respond and express its support for good causes such as Ukraine's defense or BLM, but has remained silent when it comes to Israel, a fellow UEFA member. The actions of the terrorists are indiscriminate. No better than ISIS or Al Queda, Hamas aims to attack, assault, maim, brutalize, rape, behead, dismember, burn, shoot, butcher, kill, and slaughter any man, woman, or child they wish. This extends beyond Jews and the borders of Israel to the entire Western world. Among the many victims are many of our friends and fellow fans. We mourn those who have lost their lives due to Hamas's sickening torture and actions. We call on the football world and say enough! It is time to choose a side. Football can no longer stand on the sidelines when it comes to these horrendous actions. Either side with the victims of the attack and show the world you stand behind your campaigns against racism and antisemitism, or continue to stay silent, allowing for misinformation to spread and empower Hamas and those who would gladly see our end. As of yet, no black armbands have been worn, no minute of silence practiced, no condemnation or show of support expressed. We expect this to be corrected immediately and for English football specifically, and the wider football world, to finally show their support for Israel and prove to us that football is, in fact, there for us when we need it.
