@UQAM Prof. @FSR_Pausata will lead a comprehensive study of the fires that would occur following a nuclear exchange, the resulting smoke, and its impact on the climate. Results will provide a “more robust estimate of the climate consequences associated with a nuclear war”.

Our new paper led by B. Ward shows that the #ENSO response to volcanic eruptions in #MPI_GE is dependent on the response of the #ITCZ. This causes El Niño-like anomalies after a Northern Hemisphere eruption and La Niña-like anomalies after a Southern Hemisphere one. @FSR_Pausata
