Fort Lauderdale is more than a city. Itโs the people who make it work every day.
Across Fort Lauderdale, thousands of employees are working every day to keep our city moving, our community safe, and our neighborhoods thriving.
Different departments. Different jobs. One team working for one city.
Turn up the volume. Spot your favorite City team. And see Fort Lauderdale at work.
We Are FTL.
Heads up, Fort Lauderdale. Over the next few days, higher tides are expected due to seasonal King Tides. We expect Tuesday 10/27 to bring the year's highest tide.
Approx high tides: ๐๏ธ Mon 10/26, 8:50 PM | ๐๏ธ Tues 10/27, 9:45 AM & 9:45 PM |๐๏ธ Wed 10/28, 10:30 AM & 10:30 PM | ๐๏ธ Thu 10/29, 11:15 AM & 11:30 PM

๐ Exceptionally high tides & potential rainfall is expected to cause moderate coastal flooding along FLโs East Coast, the Florida Keys & the tidal St. Johns River.
Flooding could begin as early as tomorrow & continue through the weekend, with King Tides raising water levels up to a foot above normal!
Now is the time to prepare before water rises:
โช๏ธ Move vehicles & valuables to higher ground.
โช๏ธ Secure loose outdoor items.
โช๏ธ Plan alternate routes in case roads flood.
โ ๏ธ Monitor local forecasts & stay informed!
Fort Lauderdale: skip the drama, traffic, and stress of driving south, and check out 5 spots our locals love this weekend!
๐ George English Park: free pickleball, tennis courts, and boat ramps.
๐ Holiday Park: @BHIcePlex (@FlaPanthers practice facility), @ftlwarmemorial, and award-winning Jimmy Evert Tennis Center.
๐ @HuizengaPark: riverfront views, eateries, and dog park.
๐ @RiverwalkFTL: 2.5-mile shared path along the north & south banks of the New River.
๐ Snyder Park: free dog beach, edible Food Forest, and @playthefort pickleball complex.
City crews are responding to a water leak along eastbound E. Las Olas Blvd. at Coral Way in the Las Olas Isles neighborhood. Eastbound traffic on E. Las Olas Blvd. is shifted to the north side of the road between Isle of Capri Drive and Seven Isles Drive where one lane in each direction will remain open. Drivers should follow posted signs and drive with caution.

Higher tides are predicted over the coming days due to king tides.
Other factors such as wind, currents and sea level rise are expected to drive tidal heights to potential record elevations, causing widespread tidal flooding on roadways. Rain before or during peak tide times will worsen ponding.
The peak morning tide on Tuesday, October 27 at approximately 9:45 AM is expected to be the highest of the year.
Peak Tides:
๐ Sat. 10/24 โ 7:15 AM & 7:30 PM
๐ Sun. 10/25 โ 8 AM & 8:15 PM
๐ Mon. 10/26 โ 8:45 AM & 9 PM
๐ Tue. 10/27 โ 9:45 AM & 9:45 PM
๐ Wed. 10/28 โ 10:30 AM & 10:30 PM
๐ Thu. 10/29 โ 11:15 AM & 11:30 PM
๐ Fri. 10/30 โ 12:15 PM
๐ Sat. 10/31 โ 12:30 AM & 1:15 PM
Drive With Caution: Road closures due to tidal flooding are possible on these days. Avoid driving through standing water, and drive slowly to avoid creating a wake that could push water closer to nearby properties.
Protect Your Property: Neighbors in areas typically impacted by vehicle wakes should take precautions to protect their homes from water intrusion, such as placing sandbags at entry points and elevating vulnerable belongings.
Secure Waste Carts: If your street is prone to flooding, please secure your waste carts rather than placing them at the curb to prevent them from tipping, filling with water or floating into roadways. If you do set carts out for service, secure them promptly following collection.
