First, why would anyone design it this way? Because in a lot of crypto games, the pizza had to come from somewhere, and there were really only two places,other players' pockets, or brand new tokens printed on the spot. Printing works while new players keep arriving. The day new tokens show up faster than new buyers, winners cash out, the price slides, and the next prize is worth less. Axie Infinity's SLP is the famous example. Not every game ends like that. But "who's paying for the pizza?" is the question every GameFi project eventually has to answer.
