That's what they do.
When "winners" lose, they say to themselves, "I lost. I blew it."
When "losers" lose, they congratulate themselves on what a wonderful job they did while losing.

No rational person would leave a 14YO in charge of a 12, 11 and 9YO for an entire business week with only a babysitter checking in on them 2x a day. The status of the kids (hygiene, what they were eating, the state of the house, etc) is going to be a huge factor in sentencing.
Everyone seems to be misunderstanding the story about the mom arrested for leaving her 4 kids home while she went to Vegas.
>It was a work trip, not a vacation
>Babysitter came every morning to get kids ready for school
>The babysitter checked on them again after school
>The kids were 14, 12, 11 and 9
>She was coming home in 5 days
>Kids father charged with hitting the mother
>Florida has no law setting an age kids can be home alone
...call me crazy, but when I was a kid this would have been NO PROBLEM AT ALL.
I'm on the mother's side here, all charges should be dropped.

You're right—the original red bar was enlarged purely for visibility. Here's a version that keeps the heights strictly proportional to the numbers.

Musk companies (Tesla ~70k US of 135k global, SpaceX ~21k mostly US, plus X/Neuralink/Boring/xAI) employ ~100k+ in America. Soros Fund Management (~200) + Open Society Foundations (236 US of 464 total) total ~450. Direct operating jobs vs finance/philanthropy staff.

Different allegations from the same person dropped right before two elections. And the media has no problem playing right along.
It would be funny if it weren't so evil.

This is a watershed moment and it passed by almost unnoticed. Here we have British cops threatening a man with arrest for being “openly Jewish” at a pro-Hamas rally. Being Jewish in public where Muslims can see you in Sadiq Khan’s London is now officially a crime. Never mind that he’s standing quietly with his hands in his pockets while people chant “Nazi scum” at him: he’s visibly Jewish, which makes him clearly in the wrong.
Also worth noting: the fact that the cops, apparently incapable of preventing violence as long as this man is antagonizing the crowd by breathing Jewishly at them, have decided that the best way to deal with the problem of violent antisemitism is to side with the antisemitic mob. Arresting a Jew, whose very existence is an act of Islamophobia, is so much safer than protecting him and his right to be openly Jewish in 21st century Britain.

Of course @CloudyTopics cut off replies, because the guy who called the cops is the BLACK coach.
As usual, a certain group can't handle rules.

What's considered a minimal quality of life today would have been unimaginable luxury to most people throughout history.
Indoor plumbing, electricity, refrigeration, modern medicine, instant communication, and access to food from around the world.
Much of what ordinary people enjoy today was once unavailable even to the wealthiest.
Capitalism has made yesterday's luxuries today's necessities.
And somehow, this extraordinary progress is presented as evidence of failure.

The debate over Elon’s decision to throttle Starlink speeds comes down to a basic principle that Ukrainian government ignoring: private civilian infrastructure is being openly weaponized in a foreign war, dragging an American company and its CEO into a conflict they never signed up for.
Starlink is a commercial internet service for civilians, not a free military communications backbone for any government or armed force. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have repeatedly violated the terms of service by using it for combat operations, including mounting terminals on cheap FPV drones in active tactical zones. That is not “innovation” it is the deliberate militarization of civilian technology.
This puts Elon Musk and SpaceX in an impossible political position. By continuing to provide service under these conditions, a U.S. company risks being treated as a party to the conflict, exposed to legal, regulatory, and retaliatory consequences. The same governments and commentators who demand unlimited support for Ukraine show little concern for the sovereignty of private companies or the dangers of turning commercial systems into instruments of war. If the roles were reversed, the outcry would be immediate.
The video of Starlink terminals on FPV drones simply makes the problem harder to deny: the Ukrainian military is so well-supplied with terminals that they are treating them as expendable military gear. That is a political choice with real costs for the company providing the service.
