Using Grab bikes in Vietnam? Check the helmet before you get on.
Many times in Hanoi, mine wasn’t working properly. If it’s broken, cancel and book another.
Everyone told me to skip Vientiane.
I nearly did. I’m glad I didn’t.
One day was enough. Pha That Luang is the one thing I wouldn’t skip.

Everyone climbs Phousi Hill in Luang Prabang for sunset.
That’s the problem. It gets very busy, and I didn’t enjoy jostling for a seat.
Go earlier in the day for the views over the Mekong, minus the crowd.

I’ve been using @TailwindApp for the last year, and I’m starting to get tired of the bugs.
Logging in and out every time I use it. Not pulling the images from my posts.
It’s a shame, because I really do see the potential. It could be great.
Renting a bike in Vang Vieng? They may ask for your passport as a deposit.
Don’t hand it over. We asked if our driving licence would do instead, and it did.
Take photos of the bike before you ride off too.
People think Dublin is just drunk people and bars.
I lived there. It’s not all like that.
Skip the Book of Kells queue and go to Collins Barracks. Get a pint at the Porterhouse. And take the bus; your legs will thank you.

When a tuk-tuk driver in Bangkok offers to take you to the Big Buddha, ignore them.
They’ll claim it’s closed and take you somewhere else.

Three of the best things to do in Dublin are free.
St Stephen’s Green. Phoenix Park. The National Botanical Garden, where the glasshouses feel like the Amazon.
Save your money for the Guinness Storehouse.

Driving along the south coast of Spain, I kept seeing Morocco across the water.
I didn’t go. Big group, no time.
The ferry from Tarifa to Tangier takes about an hour. If you’re in Cádiz, make time.

I’ll be honest, the food in Riga was nearly always meat, potatoes and veg.
The soups saved it. Pea soup at Province. Borscht at LIDO.
7 things I learned after 3 days in Riga 👇

Irish people love the Costa del Sol. I can’t believe more of us aren’t talking about Cádiz.
Far fewer crowds, golden sand, and dunes I ran up and down like a child again.
To me, it was far better 👇

Riga’s Cat House has two cats on the roof, tails pointed straight at the guild building next door.
The owner was refused membership. This was his revenge.
He was eventually forced to turn them round. The grudge lives on in the name.
Flew out of Dublin on Paddy’s Day. Ended up the first ones on the dance floor in a Latvian folk club, surrounded by locals.
By the end of the night, everyone was up.
My 3 days in Riga, the good, the dark and the samey food 👇
