It doesn’t make any sense that the Bears dealt Gervon Dexter Sr cause he wasn’t a scheme fit but then traded for Jeffrey Simmons. They’re similar attacking style DTs. Don’t get me wrong Simmons is superior in his presence and body of work over the years but in this new home Dexter found in ATL he’s putting up similar production to Simmons in about half the snaps and he’s younger and costs less. The best landing spot for Josh Downs is probably the Niners Shanahan is amazing at scheming his guys open but great thing about Downs is he gets open on his own against man and zone. Another thing is Brock Purdy is one of the most accurate QBs in the league. With Kittle and McCaffrey and (Evans when he comes back) he’s gonna get all the one on one matchups he wants. Feel like that destination is a no brainer.

I don’t think trading for Josh Downs makes sense for the Falcons unless you’re gonna let him operate one of the top options in the passing game. Rees has been doing a decent job working the ball around to their star players recently. I just think they need even more explosive passing plays. I think they should just put more on Zachariah Branch plate rather than trade draft capital. This is coming from somebody who LOVES Downs game.
