"Do you know how unreasonable you sound to call the police?"
"I don't care whether it sounds unreasonable or not."

BREAKING: from the East Potomac golf course hearing. Judge Reyes is not letting the Trump admin off easy.
She ordered DOJ's #3, Stan Woodward, and the head of the National Park Service to show up in person. And she started the hearing by reading the DC Bar's rule about candor to the court.
She asked Woodward if DOJ made any false assertions to the court. "Not to my knowledge." Then she asked if he read ALL the transcripts before getting involved, including DOJ's motion to disqualify HER.
Interior's lawyer, Noah Hoggatt, got the same question. Did Interior make any material misrepresentations of fact or law to the court? Same answer. "Not to my knowledge."
Hoggatt then declined to say whether Secretary Burgum was "involved" in the golf course decision-making. When he pressed Reyes on the definition of "involved," she pulled up a dictionary and read it to him.
Then she asked Hoggatt when he first learned of the plan to close the course. Woodward objected on "apex doctrine" grounds. After a sharp exchange, Hoggatt sat down and Woodward answered.
She pressed Woodward on Trump's Oct. 18 Truth Social post saying the course will close Nov. 15. Did Trump mean what he said? Woodward says that's shielded by executive privilege.
Now here's the conflict. Trump posted again on Oct. 26 that it would close Nov. 15 "as scheduled." Woodward says he doesn't know what Trump was referring to. He says the plan to close it wasn't made official until Oct. 28.
Reyes also went after the sea wall excuse. It wasn't mentioned at any point in this case until this month. She says it speaks to the plaintiffs' concern that it's a "pretext" to carry out Trump's plan.
