I learned today on X that people say Israel isn't a democracy because non-citizens cannot vote.
I thought this was insanely stupid, and then realized that the same people want non-citizens to vote in America, too.

WSJ: The U.S. military is sending an additional Patriot system to Israel from Texas to beef up its missile defenses in the country, according to flight tracking data and two officials with knowledge of the movement.
NEW: The U.S. has told several Gulf Arab countries to prepare for a short, intense military campaign against Iran after the midterm elections, the WSJ reports.
U.S. forces are restocking ammunition, while bombers and fighter jets are preparing for strikes. An additional aircraft carrier strike group and Marine expeditionary unit are also expected to join roughly 20 other warships operating in the Middle East next month.

More Islamic massacres of innocent defenseless Christians, this time in Ethiopia. Over 40 killed within a couple of hours.
How many more massacres of Christians need to happen before someone does something to stop it? These groups get their funding from the same states that fund Hamas, Hezbollah and dozens of other terrorist groups.
When will the Vatican speak up?
When will the EU say something?
When will the mainstream media bother to report it?
When will Elon Musk and other social media owners post about it even once?
How can nobody even care?
Why is the world protecting the perpetrators?

The problem though is they are voting against the existence of Israel. I am not sure what to make of that.

A Jewish wedding was violently interrupted by a vile Jew hater!
Joseph Nixon, 43, from Mullacreevie, Armagh, Northern Ireland, stormed a Jewish wedding reception at Liverpool's Adelphi Hotel. He unleashed a disgusting, intimidating antisemitic tirade on guests celebrating a family wedding.
He confronted the best man about 'Palestine' & Israel, shouted “you Jewish bastards” entered the reception yelling “Jews are murderers” & “you guys are killing babies”. The hate-filled outburst lasted around eight minutes before his arrest. Jews aren't even allowed to have family celebrations in peace. Daily events of hate in the UK. So sad...

Keep up the good work Laura. There may be a lot of antisemitic noise on here (& elsewhere) but there are also an awful lot of us who support what you & others are doing in confronting antisemitism and who confront it in our own experience, standing alongside our Jewish friends,

Hear hear. My West London comprehensive school in 1970s prevented me from staying on for A-levels because I was a Jew, non-practising FWIW. It ruined my University dreams forcing me to take an entirely different path in life.

The vile comments on this post offer a snapshot of what Jewish people face daily. I’m not Jewish, but I’ve had a torrent of abuse since calling out antisemitism in schools. It’s not acceptable and these people are gross.

They called it apartheid. The ballot box called them liars. Arab and Muslim parties are winning 17 seats in Israel’s parliament, the Knesset. Arab turnout was above 70% in town after town. Wait, I thought Zionists were racist, so how come these “racists” are giving parliamentary seats to Arabs and Muslims, who, in turn, came out to vote? Some villages hit 90% turnout.
They democratically participated and voted in a Zionist democratic system they believe in?
Arabs now hold about 14% of Israel’s parliament. Muslim MPs hold about 4% of Britain’s. Odd kind of apartheid, where the “oppressed” vote harder than London does.

Black (and Jewish) voters in Michigan are rejecting Abdul El Sayed, the Muslim Brotherhood candidate. So, naturally, Raphael Warnock, Kamala Harris, Barack Obama, and other members of the Black progressive elite have been dispatched to Michigan to put those uppity Black folk in their place.
There is no more apt illustration of Democrat Party politics over the past 60 years.

Last spring I was in Tel Aviv doing street interviews in a T-shirt with the Lebanese and Israeli flags on it. A man wearing a kippa passed by, spat at me, and called me "smolanit" (leftist). We stopped filming and I followed him. I told him: a) nobody has ever called me a leftist, and b) what if I were? Is this how Israelis will speak to one another, even after October 7? As it turned out, he was French, not Israeli. Still, his outburst only added to the already painful strife between Israelis.
Which brings me to something harder to say. If an outsider can't be part of the solution and is only adding to the problem, it may be wiser to keep quiet. I know how that sounds coming from me. I'm sitting barefoot in my comfortable living room on another continent, my son safe and starting his second year at university, while my friends' children serve in the army. I'm not telling anyone how to vote. That choice belongs to those who live with its consequences. Israelis bear the cost of casual opinions tossed from afar. It affects their psyche, their careers, the country's economy, even regional and global stability.
Many in the diaspora care deeply and give generously, sometimes tens of millions of dollars, to support their vision for Israel. That love is real. But love from a distance carries a responsibility to remember who pays the price. No one who truly loves Israel can be moved by contempt for any Israeli, given everything they have lived through and the events that shaped their views.
Israel is a democracy. Voters choose what will shape their daily lives and what they believe is best for their country. May the wisest be the majority. Whatever happens, the result will reflect years of unbearable circumstances. Leaders, and not only politicians, should have the wisdom to offer a vision that can unite Israelis whatever the outcome.
As someone who deeply cares about Israel and trusts G-d, I believe the outcome will be the natural continuation of this saga. Before October 7, after watching Israelis fight each other on Yom Kippur in 2023, I appealed to them to see the bigger picture. I warned that we were nearing a tipping point the axis of resistance had spent decades building toward. Few read my article back then, and fewer understood. Today a few more know "my agenda," and I wish the fighting would stop.
"If Bibi is reelected, we will leave the country." "If he isn't reelected, we will all die." Really? No one man is responsible for what Khomeini and his heirs designed for Israel. Nor is Bibi the Messiah. I understand where this fixation on one person comes from in the Arab world. Among Israelis, it beats me.
The Holy Land was promised to Israel, a people, not a person. Like all of us, Abraham was not immortal. The land was his and his descendants', as long as they kept the covenant. We are human and we make mistakes, sometimes so grave they overshadow the big picture, and the consequences, one way or another, match the gravity of the mistake. But the door to teshuva is always open. Will you allow the price to be the country?
No matter what happens, be kind to Israel and remember it is your people. Whoever is hurt, it will affect everyone, because you are all in the same boat.

I’ve been called antisemitic slurs more times in one month of standing up for Jews, than I’ve been targeted for my own race….in my entire life.
I’m honored.
Because Jews are the most incredible people. I am in awe of them.
