Do I think it was for sure staged? No. Ofc not. There are many delusional unstable people out there with easy access to guns. Do I think, for the first time ever, we have a President so heartless, egotistical, media obsessed, theatrical and so full of lies, that I think he’d risk the lives and well-being of other people to stage an event that makes him look heroic or justifies an action he wants to take? Yes. So while I think it is fair to presume this was a real threat, I think for the first time in history it merits being open to the option that something is amiss, looking at the oddities critically and asking the question. Especially when this is the third time there has been a major security lapse around him. To dismiss all that at face value, is to pretend this is politics as usual - and the Trump era is simply not that world.
