In parting, I echoed his farewell, one that evokes a sense of camaraderie: ‘yaaro yaari.’ Over this journey, I would meet many more like him—people who’d lost everything to the water, but had always known it better than all others. fiftytwo.in/story/rivers/

Tbh, there's hardly any miss at @FiftyTwoDotIn, but this one especially resonates because this very opportunity is available for taking in a market like Nigeria too.
There's so much idleness and/or youth in rural Nigeria too, and very few options.

Met another namesake last week, who heard me out for the second time in 3 months abt how we both have @FiftyTwoDotIn bylines and an IIM Cal scene
this time, I also told him abt my book, which’d just been rejected by the NIF fellowship. He said he wasn’t with them currently BUT—

For years, Indians have been obsessed over the question of when, where and if Subhas Chandra Bose died. But the answers have always been waiting for those who wanted to know, in Taiwan.
@sowmiyashok brings this fascinating piece

The Commissioner of Police G.S. Wilson arrived shortly after. “Good morning, Mr. Roy,” he said, before placing him under arrest.

Almost a year after we met in Taipei, Chen sent me a message on Facebook with a belated realisation: “Bose’s death in Taiwan is not only an individual’s private event,” he wrote, “but the first important political event between India and Taiwan.”

In my story for @FiftyTwoDotIn, I wrote about former MP Samar Guha's obsession to solve Netaji's 'death mystery' till his death in 2002.
To enlist support, he’d sent missives to at least three Indian PMs, one Indian Prez, numerous MPs and even to Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev.
