I applaud Judge Carter’s decision to audit Los Angeles’ homeless programs. Despite hundreds of millions of dollars in investment, the crisis continues to spiral out of control while public safety concerns persist.

Man, oh man, they are gonna find a ton of misappropriation of funds with this audit of LA's homeless programs. I guarantee it. Judge Carter is a beast. @abales

So do we need to put safes in our cars just to live a “normal life”? Why are we adjusting our lives to stop criminals when we should be adjusting the criminals lives.
Pandora’s box has been opened, can it ever be closed.

And, why are we giving away public land for a commercial development?

Are they also chanting “Pay VCHC millions of dollars & bolster their real estate portfolio!”
How about “no one from Venice Streets is guaranteed a home here!”
Or maybe “@VCHC authored an editorial we’re pretending is a miraculous coincidence of reporting!”
Just wondering.
Time to update this. @VCHC now has more than $64MM in assets on its balance sheet w/*$54Million* in property. Remember this as they complain about being sued over dishonesty around the Venice project which doesnt reserve any units for homeless camping on the streets next door.

In 2021, George Gascón struck Mr Gregory Black’s prior strike, and gave him time served and probation for attempted murder. Mr Black had 11 prior arrests and multiple prior felony convictions. Mr Black, while on felony probation, was driving over 90 mph in a Mercedes. He ran multiple red lights, crashed into an Uber carrying Kimberly Izquierdo, Veronica Amezola and Juvelyn Arroyo and killed them.
Gascon did not issue a press release saying he was sorry or offering his condolences to the families. Instead, his office did say this: “Mr Black was previously placed on probation for attempted murder after a careful review of the evidence.”
Gascón has zero experience being an actual prosecutor. When he came into office, he claimed he was going to reform the system and make everyone safer. He did the exact opposite. Striking prior strikes and giving dangerous people probation when these people have long criminal records is setting them up for failure and making our community much less safe. It’s not a reform. It’s the exact opposite. Three innocent young women have lost their lives and Mr Black is now going to prison for the rest of his. This helped no one. It’s not progress.
Holding people accountable and responsible for crimes and ordering some level of punishment must happen before rehabilitation can work. Citing people out for repeated crimes, giving people sweet-heart deals, placing repeat violent offenders on probation, not charging provable allegations, and always striking prior strikes is not a reform and it’s not making us any safer. Blanket policies don’t work. There are just too many cases during Gascon’s last three years where tragedies like this have happened. They didn’t need to happen! This isn’t fair to the families, the children left behind or our communities.
Time to vote Gascón out! We’ve suffered enough. LA deserves so much better.

Tina, please learn that Venice in fact has more affordable housing/capita than any neighborhood other than skid row, so “desperately in need”, is an inaccurate representation.
Plus, 200+ NEW units were built or come on-line this year, so the info you are being fed is untrue.

You might want to note your posts are essentially ads, given your position within @vchc. You have a 7 million dollar fee on the line and an increase in property holdings is at stake. It’d be best if you recused yourself or noted you’re the beneficiary of projects you want funded.
