October Animation:
Horrifying stop-motion animation in Otesánek (2000), written and directed by Jan Švankmajer, which I cannot recommend because I've not been able to finish it. 😱
Also known as Little Otik, find it and watch it if you must. I'll be elsewhere with the lights on.
October Animation:
I must admit, I wasn't sure how I felt about (or if I even liked) this one when it came out, but after a second watch about ten years later (and then multiple watches since), I've come to realize that Henry Selick's Monkeybone (2001) is really quite brilliant.
October Animation:
Fun homage to the old-school movie monsters in Jules Bass' Mad Monster Party? (1967) with excellent musical numbers by Maury Laws and Jules Bass.
Enjoy!

With anyone over 50 you can be fairly confident what's been taught and what's been left out. But these young people have such an intelligent, knowledgeable surface, and then the crust suddenly breaks and you look down into depths of confusion you didn't know existed.
