And #DCStudios seems to have pulled it off, as moviegoers are melted by #DCU’s first R-rated body horror #CLAYFACE, giving the villain an SPECTACULAR A- #CinemaScore, extremely rare for horrors, let alone R-rated ones, and best ever for body horror films.
Not only that, it’s one of the best scores for a DC film since Nolan’s #TDK trilogy, despite being R-rated, on par with #SUPERMAN, #TheBatman, #Aquaman & #ManOfSteel’s A-, only below #WonderWoman & #Shazam’s A.

Let me preface this by saying everyone is entitled to their own opinion so I'm not here to tear anyone else's opinion down, but...
I honestly do not understand the people who have visceral negative reviews of #Clayface.
It's not a perfect movie by any stretch of the imagination, but it's very good. There are some rough parts to the film, but overall it's a well acted, well shot film that does a good job mixing the fantastical, comic book elements with the more grounded elements. The body horror stuff is also excellent.
This was an ambitious film from the beginning and I think it delivers. I definitely would recommend everyone go see it if you like these types of movies.

I don't have an issue with this, but I want the BEST 24 teams. I don't want Whack-A-Mole State to get an automatic bid because they won the South Montana Valley Conference #CFP #NCAA
Went to see "The Social Reckoning" last night because I had heard so many mixed reviews about it so I wanted to see for myself.
First, the movie is 100% Aaron Sorkin. All of his trademarks are littered across this film. Both the good and the bad. If you like Sorkin's work, which I do, you'll like this film.
Having said that, there are different levels of liking something, and The Social Reckoning is on the lower level of that for me.
The story is based on the 2021 Facebook files leak by whistleblower Frances Haugen and Wall Street Journal investigative reporter Jeff Horowitz and details the events leading up to Haugen's first meeting with Horowitz through her appearance before Congress.
The acting performances are solid. Mikey Madison's Haugen is probably the best of the bunch, and Jeremy Allen White does what he does as Horowitz. Nothing stands out from either performance, but there's nothing bad about them either.
The biggest criticism I had seen prior to going to see the film was Jeremy Strong's portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg. Let me preface this by saying it was always going to be difficult to play Zuckerberg since he's become so much a part of our every day lives, not to mention following up Jesse Eisenberg's tour de force performance in "The Social Network", which this film is a "sequel" to. That being said, I didn't see too much wrong with Strong's performance. He hit all of the quirky, socially awkward notes we have learned about Zuckerberg, and I thought if you were using Eisenberg's performance as the base, Strong played him as the older, more mature version of the same character.
The rest of the cast is again solid, with Billy Magnussen's Teddy Marks being the standout. He doesn't have a huge role, but every time he's on the screen I found myself gravitating towards his performance.
As for Sorkin's style... it both helps and hurts this film. The pace is fast, which allows the film to move from beat to beat without being dull, but it also makes getting any kind of emotional attachment to a character difficult. I found myself just wanting to know what happens next and not really caring about who it was happening to. This works better in a long form television show because viewers learn about the characters as you progress through 15-20 episodes a season, but in a 2 hour film it takes away from the weight of any moment.
Overall, "The Social Reckoning" is a good watch, but it plays more like a documentary than a dramatic retelling of a historical moment. It leaves you feeling more like you just watched Dateline or 60 Minutes than a major motion picture. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it makes it a hard sell as a film you need to go to the theater to see.
Which probably explains the box office numbers...
