We (veterans) trust Brandon Herrera @TheAKGuy because of his actions supporting veterans for years. Who the hell are you @katy4congress to say we don't?? You are not one of us. You do not know us. You do not speak for us. You will never represent us.
Brandon, no one can trust you. You lick the boots of people who raised healthcare costs, gutted Medicaid and Medicare, and said, “Seniors who collect Social Security should be hit with a mallet.” Now you pretend to champion healthcare? Families, hospitals and TX-23 know better.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The quoted statement is a joke from a comedy podcast referencing the film Midsommar, not a serious claim or policy. Herrera's campaign platform states he opposes cuts to Social Security and Medicare benefits. brandonherreraforcongress.com/issues/ x.com/patriottakes/s…

This is real leadership. I remember when Brandon told me he was gonna do this. He has always showed up for this community and always will. If you live in Texas district 23 you should vote for Brandon Herrera.
Any “politician” can say they stand by our troops. It’s a different thing entirely to stand by them in person overseas 🇺🇸

JUST IN: The U.S. Air Force has tested a SpaceX $SPCX spacecraft carrying military supplies through space, advancing plans to deliver critical equipment anywhere on Earth in as little as one hour. On October 20, a SpaceX Falcon 9 launched the Starfall reentry capsule carrying experimental cargo pods developed by the Air Force Research Laboratory. The pods contained communications equipment, batteries, survival supplies, medical equipment and a water desalination system. Sensors monitored temperature, shock and vibration to assess how military equipment withstands launch and atmospheric reentry. The Pentagon's longer-term Rocket Cargo program aims to transport tens of tons of supplies to remote or contested locations, potentially reaching military forces without access to runways or roads. AFRL confirmed the test flight, but has not published detailed cargo-performance results or demonstrated operational point-to-point delivery. The technology could eventually allow rockets to complement conventional military transport aircraft during emergencies or combat operations.

Barbecue is noun and a verb. It comes from the Taíno of the Caribbean long before European settlers arrived. Spanish explorers wrote it as barbacoa, a wooden frame for cooking over fire. Pigs weren't even in the Americas then. Columbus brought the first ones to Hispaniola in 1493, so the original barbecue wasn't whole hog. Additionally the Blackfoot and other Native American tribes were cooking bison low and slow in pits over 1,600 years ago. So while not exactly beef, BBQing bovine happened at least a thousand years before it was even possible to cook a pig on this side of the planet. I am sure if you asked @MerriamWebster, they would be happy to elaborate further on the etymology of the word.
Replying to @SamaHoole
Barbeque is a noun, it is whole hog, not beef. It is smoked over wood coals for 15 hours plus in North Carolina, not Texas, (they also copied our state flag). It requires no sauce but if you want some, it’s vinegar based. The best restaurant is the Skylight Inn in Ayden.

If you think Nazi's were not socialists, you need to read this 👇
Replying to @ChuckieFFS
You absolute midwit. Congrats on repeating the Wikipedia "Nazis were far-right, end of story" summary you absorbed between TikToks. Yes, the Nazis crushed independent unions, jailed and murdered communists and social democrats, and Hitler liquidated the Strasserite "left" wing of his own party in the Night of the Long Knives. That part is not in dispute. They were not Marxist class-struggle socialists. They hated Bolshevism as a Jewish plot and treated international socialism as the main enemy. Fine. What your middle-school history class skipped is that they still ran a National *Socialist* state: private property existed only as long as it served the Führer’s racial and war goals, wages and prices were controlled, industry was cartelized under state direction, profit was subordinated to the party, and the economy was planned for autarky and rearmament. That is not free-market capitalism, liberal conservatism, or classical right-wing economics. It is the same family of state-directed, anti-liberal, collectivist economics practiced by every other fascist and "national socialist" regime. The name was not a prank; the 25-point program and the early rhetoric were full of anti-capitalist planks precisely because they were competing with the actual socialists for working-class support. Your North Korea comparison is the usual gotcha and it is only half-clever. Yes, names can lie. But the NSDAP did not merely call itself socialist while secretly running a Rothschild hedge fund. They nationalized, directed, rationed, and regimented. The difference from Soviet socialism was mainly that the Nazis kept the owners as managers under party orders instead of shooting them all and installing commissars. Both systems produced shortages, secret police, and mass graves; one just had better uniforms and Wagner. Elon pointing out the obvious—that "National Socialist" is not an ironic branding exercise and that the regime was economically left of any classical liberal or conservative—does not make him a moron. It makes him less obedient to the post-1945 academic consensus that insists every totalitarian who isn’t a full Marxist must be filed under "far-right" so the left never has to share the body count. Money didn’t buy him a brain; it just bought him a platform where he doesn’t have to pretend your selective reading of 1930s Germany is the complete picture. Keep yelling "far-right fascists" while ignoring the actual economic policies and the party’s own name. It is the historical equivalent of covering your ears and shouting.

Hegseth did not do this. These military demonstrations for sporting events have been happening for over 100 years. As someone who "served" (albeit with a discharge for misconduct after less than 2 years) you should know these decisions happen at much lower levels. If you didn't know this, you may not be qualified to comment on it. With the recipts:
He died. Thanks @PeteHegseth @SecWar for yet another pointless and tragic recruiting spectacle

In the wake of my viral tweet about the livestreamed death of Tech Sgt. Ian Patterson -- reported by Raw Story, The Daily Beast, Newsweek, and The Independent -- a public relations firm associated with the Department of War is now spreading false information about me using bots.

See you in Valhalla brother.
The U.S. Air Force, via a statement from Nellis Air Force Base Public Affairs, has identified the airman who passed away following a fall during a pregame ceremony at the Alamodome on October 17th, as Tech. Sgt. Ian Patterson, a Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) instructor assigned to the 6th Combat Training Squadron, Detachment 2, at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas. He was from Fort Stewart, Georgia, and had served for 15 years. According to the Air Force, In 2022, he was named the Air Force Special Warfare Enlisted Instructor of the Year at the Headquarters Air Force level. Brig. Gen. Scott C. Mills, commander of the 57th Wing, stated: “This tragedy is felt deeply across the 57th Wing. Tech. Sgt. Patterson and his service mattered immensely to our wing, and to the family, friends, and teammates who had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside him. Our team is now focused on standing beside Ian’s family, loved ones, and fellow Airmen as we navigate this profound loss together.” His decorations included the Air and Space Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters, as well as the Army Commendation Medal, Air and Space Achievement Medal, and Army Achievement Medal each with one oak leaf cluster.
