She is not wrong based on the fact that she mentioned Chinese language. I’ve worked in a company that has its HQ in China while i lived in Singapore.
Mandarin is just the standard for Chinese language (Meaning you’re taught mandarin), Chinese language itself is the language Family which involves dialects.
The proper language you would be taught is mandarin but the word “Chinese language” exist.
Also she is not a scam.
