Tulane was bad against Charlotte. Bad against Southern Miss. Bad against South Alabama.
Just because a team wins a game doesn’t indicate a healthy overall condition of the program.

Promised facility improvements and funding increases never happened but were always 'close'. FB attendance cratered because of funding cuts and asinine scheduling. Major sports coaches weren't on speaking terms with him. Donations and sponsorships decreased.

Tulane men’s basketball team hit an absolute low point with a loss to Jackson State on Thursday.
Entering this season, Ron Hunter had two years left on his contract, making around $3M total. No one stepped up this offseason to buyout those two years. So now fans are stuck with another season of losing on the court.
Finney, Dickerson, Conroy, Dunleavy, Hunter. 31 years of missing the NCAA Tournament.

Tulanians, New Orleans, Athletic Director David Harris, and President Mike Fitts,
Enough is enough. Tulane football is a falling way short of our standard and imminent action is necessary.
Last year, Tulane was one of the 12 best teams in the entire country which lead to unprecedented positive media coverage, a surge in Alumni support and a 100% increase in applications to the university. 9 months ago, thousands of Alumni gathered across the country to cheer on the Wave win the conference championship and compete in the College Football Playoff. Now, we can hardly get 10 alumni together in each city to watch a game. The poor state of the football program is not only doing direct harm to Alumni engagement and enthusiasm and will have repercussions in future admissions cycles, but could potentially lead to irreversible damage and billions of lost dollars with the inevitable upcoming conference realignment.
Our success has been used as an excuse to not invest MORE in the program. We have been a victim of our own success and our peers have caught up and surpassed us already. Our former competition like SMU, and Houston who were already ahead of us seems impossible to catch up to.
Change is needed now. WE MUST INVEST TO STAY COMPETITIVE.
If you care about Tulane football please SHARE this message. An outpouring from Alumni, Fans, and New Orleans will be the only thing to bring the university to immediate action.

There's a decent chunk of season left...But my only comment is:
Whoever ran the last coaching search for Tulane cannot be allowed to run the next one. A calamitous decision tree has net predictable results.

North Texas and FAU spend less money than Tulane and yet their offenses would make you believe they are spending double.
UTSA spends less than Tulane too, and absolutely dominated us last week. 42-19 at Yulman.
The "P4" excuse covered the Duke and Kansas State losses. After Duke, Hall said "it's going to be fixed on Monday." After UTSA, the excuse was "we had to play the game in a way that's not really conducive for us."
It's Week 9. Nothing is fixed.
There were absolutely ZERO excuses from Sumrall and Fritz. They fixed problems quickly.
Like I said earlier this week, blowing out Charlotte means nothing.
But sure, Tulane may win tonight and Will Hall will celebrate it like he won the Super Bowl. The reality is the administration has failed its fans, donors and the American Conference by pretending this is an acceptable situation.
Even the student newspaper ran a column yesterday: "It's time for Will Hall to cut the excuses."
This isn't negativity, it's the facts.
While others in the conference made strong moves in the offseason with less resources, Tulane failed.
I don't care what happens tonight. I just know it's nowhere close to what it used to be.
That sucks.
