When Fire Chief Anthony Marrone (LACoFD) announced at 8AM on Jan 8 that "only a few dozen homes" were impacted by the Palisades Fire, he was fully aware that at least 5,000 homes had already been destroyed. My posts on this were denied and removed.

The Franklin Fire Saved Malibu.
This photo illustrates the critical importance of brush clearance.
Without the Franklin Fire’s burn scar (which acted as brush clearance), the Palisades Fire would have destroyed all of Malibu and beyond.
