2026 is one of DeFi’s worst years for exploits.
Firelight cover is live on @krakenfx Protected Strategies USDC and @SentoraHQ’s USD Protected and Protected RWA vaults.
Here's how it works for stakers. 🧵
With Firelight cover built into @krakenfx Protected Strategies USDC, we’ve analyzed how a protected vault works, from strategy to settlement.
Dive in. 🔥

It’s great to see XAO DAO putting their XRP to work in @Firelightfi on Flare.
Thank you to the XAO DAO community for putting their trust in our ecosystem!
🏦 80% of the XAO DAO Treasury has been deployed to @Firelightfi for staking.
The proposal passed with flying colors.
No more idle ripple:native in our treasury.
Heading to Swell?
Join the @FlareNetworks meetup on 27 October to meet @admff492, CEO and Co-Founder of Firelight and Co-Founder and CEO of @SentoraHQ, for a conversation about Firelight and the future of onchain cover. 🔥
Flare Meetup New York 🗽
Flare is hosting a meetup during @RippleSwell on October 27th at The Addison NY, steps away from the Swell venue.
Come meet builders, traders and founders, including @upshift_fi, @SentoraHQ, @Firelightfi and @XRPLJapan, over an open bar and bites.

Firelight monitors risk continuously and keeps rates fixed within each coverage period. New evidence informs future pricing and capacity, while existing cover keeps its terms.
@jrdothoughts dives into how simulation and AI could feed that process.

A key piece of Flare’s XRP stack.
With XRP credit getting closer to reality, it’s a good time to refresh how this system works.

Secured by FXRP.

After a curator switches cover on for a vault, its depositors are covered without any extra step.
Hypernative, Native, Credora, Cyfrin and GFX Labs sit on Firelight's Risk Consortium and confirm each event before a payout.

Curators on Upshift can now add @Firelightfi cover to their vaults.
@SentoraHQ's Protected USD and Protected RWA vaults are the first to offer it. The covered events, price and capacity are registered onchain, and staked XRP on @FlareNetworks supplies the cover capital.

The part I find interesting is how XRP enters the picture.
Holders can use @FlareNetworks FSA to mint FXRP and deposit it into @Firelightfi via a one-signature flow.
Less friction matters, especially when onboarding users who don’t want to navigate several chains and wallets.

@Firelightfi is live on @FlareNetworks, starting with protection for @SentoraHQ USD Protected Vault and Protected RWA Vaults.
It adds an onchain protection layer against defined protocol failures.
DeFi needs better risk management if it wants to attract more serious capital. 🔥

@Firelightfi is also designed to expand beyond its first vaults, with @veda_labs and @upshift_fi integrating at the infrastructure level.
The protection could become a feature more vault operators can enable rather than something each protocol has to build from scratch. 🔥

it’s the tradfication era of defi
strategy, risk mgmt, cover
good to see @SentoraHQ running all three

A reminder for every XRP holder:
your XRP can do more than sit in a wallet. On Flare, it can earn, trade, provide liquidity, back onchain cover, and be borrowed.

Great breakdown of how Firelight cover works by @thedefiedge. Cover is live for 3 strategies:
1. @krakenfx Protected Strategies USDC on Kraken DeFi Earn
2. @SentoraHQ USD Protected Vault
3. @SentoraHQ Protected RWA Vaults
Get started. app.firelight.finance/
If a protocol inside Kraken’s $USDC vault gets exploited, five independent security firms decide whether you get paid back.
With most DeFi vaults, if a protocol underneath gets exploited, you just eat the loss.
The vault runs the strategy and moves your money around for you, but the risk is still yours unless you went out and bought your own cover.
@Firelightfi changes that with a different approach. The vault operator arranges the cover, and everyone in the vault is protected without doing anything extra.
@SentoraHQ already uses it on its USD and RWA vaults, and now it’s live on @krakenfx’s Protected Strategies USDC earn vault, which Sentora curates.
If a covered protocol gets exploited, has an oracle failure, or hits another specified incident, those five firms review what happened.
If they validate the loss, Firelight can pay the vault from its backing capital, which comes from people staking $XRP with Firelight. Their stake gets slashed to cover the payout.
Honestly I think the vault level is the right place for this, because most people were never gonna buy cover on their own anyway.
It doesn’t make the vault risk-free though. Payouts aren’t automatic and cover only applies to specific incidents. There’s also a ceiling, $38M of cover available right now across three strategies.
But if you're comparing DeFi vaults, checking what happens when things go wrong is probably just as important as checking the APY.
