The wreck of the SS Fernebo, sunk by a German mine on January 9th 1917. The 17 remaining crew were saved by my Great, great, great uncle, Henry Blogg "The King of the Lifeboatmen" who saved 873 people & a dog in his time & was awarded the George Cross by King Edward VII himself.

Ideas for Christmas. With Secret Santa coming up, and budgets tight, "Tied With Wires" is an ideal present for a #Falklands buff. Part A-Team, part MacGyver, part Wyle E Coyote, it explores the weird & wonderful Argentine Inventions of the Falklands War. amzn.eu/d/gUkQNJC

Interesting article from November 13th 1983 in the NYT noting the UK's change of strategic direction following the Falklands war. The UK was previously scenario oriented against the USSR and so not prepared or equipped for a Falklands style scenario : nytimes.com/1983/11/13/world…

@FirstFalklands this was a great read-history book but flowed like a novel. I already had enormous respect for @RoyalMarines as I’ve worked with many whilst in the cops but this takes them to another level. Everyone should know the story of NP8901! #Falklands40
