I remember making 40k with a wife and two babies and having nothing left at the end of the month after rent and groceries, and I think about it still every day. If you’re struggling to make ends meet and keep your family fed with a roof over their heads, that struggle is simply the most pressing and urgent matter in your life and nothing else really comes close. This is something that many Republican politicians and conservative “thought leaders” still do not understand and maybe never will.

I genuinely hope more Democrats like you start saying exactly what they believe, openly and without the usual attempts to dress it up as something sane, reasonable, or thoughtful.
I think it's MUCH better when people are honest about how ugly their beliefs really are, rather than hiding behind carefully chosen language that lets everyone else give them the benefit of the doubt.
When you say things like this out loud, people don't have to speculate about what you believe. They don't have to wonder whether they're being unfair to you, misunderstanding you, or reading too much into your words.

Abdul El-Sayed, who just won the Michigan Democratic senate primary, said he would not take a public position on the Supreme Leader of Iran because his supporters were “sad about his killing.”
That is the audience he represents. The same radicals who turned Iran into a theocracy, and who our families fled to the west to escape.
In a leaked audio, strategizing how to address the issue of Khamenei’s killing, he said:
"I'm just gonna go straight to pedophilia” “I'll just be like, 'Pedophile president decides that he doesn't like the front page news, so he decides to take us into another war.”
This is after the January massacre of 30k+ Iranian protesters, and their continued daily hangings.

My wife and I got into it last night about the grocery bill.
I pulled up an old Target order from February 2020.
28 items. $64.50.
Added every single one back to the cart just to see.
$158.30.
Same 28 items. Same store. Same cart.
$93.80 more.
In five years.
We didn’t buy more.
Didn’t upgrade anything.
Didn’t add a single extra item.
Just needed the same things we always needed.
They told us inflation was transitory. They told us it was under control. They told us the economy was strong.
Our cart didn’t get any of those memos.
145% increase in five years.
Not one member of Congress has looked at a grocery receipt in decades.
And it shows.

I just left Costco and I feel like an idiot...
The people in front of me bought $1,200 in top shelf alcohol, cases of redbull, and steaks.
They split it up and paid for the steaks and redbull with EBT, and then pulled out a giant wad of $100 bills to pay for the alcohol in cash.
WTF am I doing with my life??? I haven't bought steak in years - I haven't bought alcohol in decades. Too expensive. On the rare occasion we eat out, I buy the cheapest thing on the menu.
Yet these people can just casually drop thousands of dollars of my tax money on things I can't even afford?? Just to drive home to a taxpayer funded house nicer than I live in.
We are completely destroyed as a society.
