These people think that Dark Souls invented enemies that respawn when you die
My favorite soulslike is Super Mario Bros (1985)

It’s funny cause Eurogamer laid out all these issues as their core complaints and niggas immediately started crying about their review score like a bunch of sheep who couldn’t even be bothered to read the review lol, I’m tired of Gamers™️man….

Lots of crying in the comments here. It comes down to this. If your game is combat focused, I would like a reason to master the systems.
If every boss folds to single button combos, what reason is there for me to use your systems. Difficulty should push me to want to use them.

expressing skill through difficulty is what video games (especially action/fighting games) attractive. I feel like y'all are too focused on finishing games than actually playing them.

Fextralife played on Hell Walker, the hardest difficulty, while 66 Days is locked behind New Game Plus. He said enemies don’t respawn when you die: kill three, die, and return to fight only the remaining two. There’s no real fear of losing progress or replaying everything.
Personally I’m fine with that we’ve all played action games before. He thinks locking 66 Days behind New Game Plus is a mistake. I think he is right players should choose their challenge from the start. If someone wants to suffer on their first playthrough, let them. Others can save it for NG+.
Boss phases may frustrate some: reach phase three, die, and restart from phase three. It’s a deliberate choice we can respect, but people will have opinions.
Reviews matter because they highlight things developers might overlook. Some want the hardest challenge from the beginning. Give them the options and let them decide.
I hope they patch these. I’m happy it’s not a Souls-like, but it needs challenge. At least don’t lock 66 Days difficulty.
Phantom Blade Zero difficulty modes ⚔️
🟢 Wayfarer: story mode, less aggressive enemies
🟡 Pathbreaker: normal, bosses use fixed combos you can learn
🔴 Hellwalker: bosses get new skills and an AI borrowed from fighting games, so they switch tactics when an attack misses
💀 66 Days: Hellwalker with only 66 deaths, then game over (unlocks in NG+ after you beat the game)
Which one are you starting with? 👇
This hurt man.
Phantom Blade Zero delivers stunning visuals, thrilling combat, and unforgettable boss fights in an ambitious action RPG. fextralife.com/phantom-blade…

Honestly people are just being intentionally obtuse as if boss resets were invented by souls-like games 😂😂😂 that’s quite literally standard practice for most games especially on the hardest difficulty
