The O.J. Simpson Chase
One of the most surreal, dramatic scenes in live broadcast television history
After being charged with double-murder that morning, Simpson — the former NFL great and NBC football analyst — and his former teammate Al Cowlings fled in Cowlings' white Ford Bronco. A 90-minute low-speed police pursuit ensued in Los Angeles.
In an unprecedented measure, NBC broke away multiple times from their live telecast of Game 5 of the 1994 NBA Finals between the Knicks and Rockets to cover the unfolding news developments with O.J.
NBC eventually utilized a split-screen to cover both events.

Emmitt Smith is actually one of the most underrated all-time greats because his game was never flashy.
He didn’t have Barry Sanders’ highlight-reel moves or make defenders look silly. But he had arguably the best field vision of any running back ever.
Smith was so good at reading blocks, finding openings, and avoiding tacklers that he made running the ball look almost effortless. Because of that, people look at the Cowboys’ great offensive line and assume *that’s* why he put up those numbers.
In reality Emmitt’s patience, vision, balance, and ability to take exactly what the defense gave him were a huge reason that offense worked so well.
Emmitt was fundamentally so good that he made everything look easy and actually hurt how people remember him.

I lived the QB purgatory post Aiman. It is why I defended Romo & Dak for so long. The organization lucked into two franchise QB's. There is a total unkown of how things will be whenever the time comes for change at the QB position. I completely understand the fans fear of the organizations ability to find the next guy. Is that worth keeping the status quo? The owner & GM told us today it seems unlikely a coaching upgrade is on the horizon. Hard to find optimism as a Cowboys fan right now
