Not many people know this but Miami's 'hard' cap at 1,049 feet for supertall highrises is flexible.
Brightline actually received FAA approval for a 1,120 FT tower years ago, which if built, would've placed Florida above states like California in terms of tallest buildings.

🚨 WE ARE SO CLOSE 🔥
The Waldorf Astoria Residences is mere feet away from becoming Miami's 🌴 first supertall skyscraper.
Supertall status for a skyscraper is conventionally defined as having an architectural height of at least 300m or 984.25 feet. 🏗️
The pink line in the photo shows its current progress which is superimposed on the schematic indicating that the top of Level 88 currently measures 964 feet (pink line) above sea level giving it a rough actual structure height of 964- 9.75 ft (ground level via schematic) = 954 ft, only 19 feet short of the supertall designation.
However there are some concrete columns for the next levels that probably add 10-15 ft meaning we are likely only mere feet away.
While largely symbolic, becoming a city with a supertall skyscraper represents the culmination of years of relentless growth, defining a globally recognizable skyline and cementing Miami as one of the most watched real estate markets on Earth. 🌎

I got butterflies🦋 when approaching this construction site the other day.
I'm not sure if that says more about the incredible design of this skyscraper or my weird fascination with them - or maybe that's just TMI altogether.
Introducing the highly anticipated, ultra luxurious, totally insane, and soon to be tallest skyscraper in Miami🌴.

Every time I’m in Miami, I’m amazed by the amount of development taking place across the county. From Brickell to Coral Gables to Coconut Grove, it feels like there’s a crane on every corner. The pace of growth remains undefeated. #305

Future Vision Studios proposes the use of floating docks to temporarily connect the missing segments of the Baywalk. This simple solution is already used for the boat show. It can even be used in this location while the proper one is built.

From the @MiamiHerald: "Only when [the Herald site] is developed will the 1979 requirement kick in."
The Herlad Office Building was torn down, replaced by massive concrete slabs and new utility grids to support profitable events like the Boat Show and Art Basel. If the site is "developed" enough to support commercial infrastructure, why is it not "developed" enough to trigger the #Baywalk?
It is peak irony that Dan Paul,, who defended the Herald’s rights at the Supreme Court in Tornillo and represented the paper for 30 years, now has his legacy of public waterfront access stalled on the very ground where the Herald once stood.
I implore the Herald Editorial Board to investigate this loophole of the term "Substantial Improvement" as to how it relates to the Baywalk and Riverwalk. #BuildTheBaywalk #Miami #UrbanPlanning

♦️ The second tower for Baccarat Residences continues skyward on the river at the entrance of the Brickell neighborhood in Miami. 🌴
The tower’s undulating glass facade by Arquitectonica is designed to resemble waves in a sea of glass, serving as a nod to the legendary French 🇫🇷 crystal brand’s heritage.
The development features a private marina and a resident only water taxi ⛴️ for quick access to local dining and to 1 Hotel South Beach 🏖️, where residents will enjoy complimentary membership and exclusive cabanas at the hotel's Beach Club.
Additionally, a new 10,000 sqft riverside restaurant 🧑🍳 is planned along the river promenade.
