Yeah, why couldn't the left have treated their government being party to genocide with the same sociopathic detachment that liberals have treated Palestine with for decades? Those absolute monsters.
Likewise. But what broke me above all was watching the left completely and utterly lose their minds over Palestine. The left became completely self destructive in a way I’d never seen before. And I want absolutely no part in that.

The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt... which was the style at the time! #TheSimpsons

"Zero illnesses", huh? theguardian.com/us-news/2026…
Elon musk bought twitter a month before the Dems had very good midterms and 4 months before social media became completely consumed by a train derailment in Ohio that caused zero injuries or illnesses

Melllvar, you can't let a TV show be your whole life. You can do anything you want. Look at Walter Koenig. After Star Trek, he became an actor. Not just an actor but a well-rounded person with my own friends and credit cards and keys. #Futurama

Disturbing how centrists mentally slip from "let's tactically avoid criticizing Democrats since Republicans are worse" to "Democrats never do anything wrong since Republicans are worse." VBNMW isn't just a tactic, it's a whole weird epistemology

When the left says "liberals aren't equipped to oppose fascists", this is what we're talking about.
Because uniparty states are bad? I want a strong, sane, normal Republican Party who doesn’t have insane views

Guys... this is the Southern Strategy GOP you're talking about here. You know, they of Newt Gingrich, Fox News and the Brooks Brothers Riot? People this naive have no business opining on politics.

Because a strong Republican party wouldn't do desperate things like try to overturn elections. Remember this two party system is designed so that some level of bi-partisanship is generally needed for most change.

Leftists dream of a more effective Democratic party. Democrats dream of a more effective Republican party.
Hillary Clinton: “The Republican Party is no longer a political party, it is a cult devoted to Trump and Trump’s power. The Republican Party needs a total transformation. If we’re gonna have a healthy government that actually gets things done and delivers for people, the Republican Party has to purge itself of everybody that lost both their conscience and their backbone over the last ten years and that’s most of them”

No, actually, I don't, and you don't either. Centrists have this nasty habit of imagining their political opponents being as petty and vindictive as they are, to the point of creating false memories based on negative polarization and maybe one or two half-remembered tweets.

Don’t forget them trying to do the same in 2020 also. Remember the gnashing of teeth and rending of hair when Biden won?

I’m sorry but the idea that some fake polls bouncing around social media somehow magically accomplished what tens of millions of dollars in ad buys could not is some of the most hilarious cope I’ve ever seen.
Wedgewood polling caused Democrats to end up with the least electable of the three candidates running in the primary in Michigan, and it has cost our party tens of millions of dollars to try to protect what should be a safe blue seat. We need to know who was behind this poll, who was getting paid, and what the mission was overall.

"The number of problem gamblers in Ontario has spiked and gambling-related suicides have tripled since the expansion of private online casino games and sports betting in 2022, CBC News has learned. Nearly 130,000 Ontarians now show signs of gambling problems, compared with roughly 43,000 in 2018, a tripling of the number of people who meet the criteria of gambling too frequently, losing money and struggling with addiction."

Can we just agree that you all have an overinflated sense of your own capacity to influence elections and need to do something else with your life?
There's a whole push by the people who do nothing but ratfvck and attack Democrats (WELL in to the general election) to be like 'wow don't talk about any of this fraud or you want Republicans to win.' I don't know what the appropriate term would be to describe this. Gaslighting, I guess. Just ignore them. It's comically bad faith and no one should take them seriously.

"Jumping the Shark" is an odd concept which I've seen defined as the "high point" of a show after which it isn't as good AND as the point at which it reaches its nadir and people *notice* that it isn't as good. The latter is often pure hindsight and that's what this is.
Why is Simpsons S9 always considered the start of the shows “dark age? I’d say a lot of the episodes are still pretty good and up to the standards of the prev seasons, hell even stuff like principle and the pauper is good

I've always been curious about what crew roles there are on a typical starship outside of engineering or sickbay. Are there fire control officers for the phasers and torpedoes? Sensor technicians? Auxiliary personnel? Everything on the bridge feels so automated.

Make no mistake: this is just centrist sour grapes based on negative polarization and *nothing else*. No polls, no numbers, just a vibes that younger people cost Biden the election because of Gaza or Hasan or somesuch.
Biden showed there are no political rewards or benefits from canceling student debt or blunting their influence on your credit rating so Trump knows he can get away with abusing student debtors. They have no power or clout and supported Trump against Biden anyway

Unironically yes. This was the one issue where speed and timing was of critical importance, because forgiven debts cannot be reinstated easily. Slow-walking the roll-out allowed the injunctions to take effect, followed by the lawsuits. jacobin.com/2023/06/joe-bide…
Ahh yeah...Biden just refused to do it The Magic Right Way. Had nothing to do with the Republican Supreme Court, it's just he pushed the "Wrong Way" button, instead of the good one. What a failure!
