Oliver’s mistake here was believing he was dealing with people that still had some human spirit left in them… had that been the case, his kiss would’ve softened her hard shell and gotten a concession from her about the virtues of manliness… but he was dealing with hollowed out vessels of ideology and must’ve been pretty embarrassed and bewildered as he walked out and I really hope he didn’t internalize the blame for it.
