Students shouldn't have to choose between their home and University CLP's. It's just excluding people. Students can vote in two different authorities for local elections anyway - I don't see the difference.

There’s no reason students who are going to be able to vote for candidates at home & at uni next week, shouldn’t also be able to engage in their CLP both at home & at uni.
All the current arrangement achieves is the disengagement and disenfranchisement of thousands of members.

Definitely.
Joining @LabourInt currently means losing a whole bunch of voting rights - AND any reduced membership fee.😖
As such, many @UKLabour members outside the UK use old addresses to stay in their home CLP.
Dual membership would strengthen engagement & internationalism.

We've given candidates until Wednesday to state their position on our pledge card, hoping that some of the candidates with a large number of nominations also sign up in time!
Just a reminder to check our which candidates in both NEC and Young Labour National Committee elections have signed our pledge to support Dual CLP Membership.
Currently 42% of NEC candidates and 67% of YL NC candidates have signed our pledge card!

On the one CLP rule, this is something Labour Students should have campaigned for - now they’ve been abolished it should be the role of the next Young Labour committee to push for this, and in the meantime I believe @ForClp are doing some top work on this as well
