The FBI has had a complete forensic image of a former Capitol Police officer's iPhone this whole time, and the government's offer to Brian Cole Jr.'s defense is… two days of it. January 5 and January 6, 2021. That's it. That's what they think a man facing the pipe bomb case gets to see while they keep the rest locked in a drawer.
Let me explain what was just filed. Cole's legal team is demanding the full image of the iPhone belonging to Shauni Kerkhoff, a former Capitol Police officer, and the motion says she failed an FBI polygraph on November 6, 2025 that specifically asked whether she placed the pipe bombs. Read that again. The FBI's own polygraph, the FBI's own question, and according to this motion the answer did not come back clean… and yet the government wants to hand over a sliver of her phone and call it discovery.
And it gets worse. The defense says an FBI re-review of that same phone turned up 11 geotagged photos the initial review had missed. Missed. Eleven of them. So the people telling you they did a thorough job on the most hyped bomb investigation in modern history somehow skipped right past location tagged pictures on the phone of a person they put on a polygraph about the bombs?
How is this even a thing? If you were confident you had the right man, you would open the whole phone up and let the chips fall wherever they fall. You only fight to hide December, and you only fight to hide November 2025, when you are afraid of what is sitting in there. Cole's team asked for December 1, 2020 through January 30, 2021 plus November 2025 if the judge won't order the full image, which is a pretty reasonable ask for a man whose life is on the line, and so far the government has offered him January 5 and 6 and nothing more.
I am not telling you who placed those devices. I am telling you the defense says it may argue someone else did, and the government is sitting on the evidence that would either prove it or kill it. That is not how justice works in this country, that is how a stacked deck works, and five years of FBLie games around these pipe bombs should have every one of you asking why.
Here is the reality. Due process means the accused gets to see the evidence, all of it, not the two days the prosecution picked out for him.
