When fear filled that cabin on FZ1073, eight flydubai crew members stood between 174 strangers and harm, and they stayed. Today MBZ honored them with the First Class Order of Zayed II. Think about what they gave up in that moment, the instinct to save themselves, the right to freeze like most people would. They chose duty over fear and gave strangers the one thing no one could take back, the chance to go home to their families. A nation that honors that kind of courage tells every citizen that character is judged under pressure, and that it will always stand with those who protect others. Societies fall apart when everyone waits for someone else to act. The UAE just showed what it looks like when people act, and when the state remembers them for it.

Terror was met with courage. Courage was met with honour.
President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed embraces Captain Smit Machchhar, hero of flydubai Flight FZ1073, honoured with the Order of Zayed II.
In the UAE, bravery knows no nationality. Heroes are treated as heroes. 🇦🇪🇮🇳
Britain referred 6,085 children to its counter terror program last year, almost triple the 2,129 of 2020, police figures show. Most were reached online, through feeds that reward rage and spectacle, and Westminster now argues mostly about what platforms should delete. Yet a child is primed long before he clicks, by a worldview that tells him his own country is hostile, that his loyalty belongs to a cause above the law, and that people outside the circle are worth less than him. The Muslim Brotherhood has spent nearly a century perfecting that worldview, and it still operates freely in Britain. Its youth circles and study networks teach identity as a siege, religious exclusivism as virtue and contempt for outsiders as loyalty. That is the soil many recruiters later dig in, and the cognitive dissonance of a society that preaches tolerance while tolerating the movement that despises it is exactly what it feeds on. A government serious about its children has to name the movements that prepare the ground, and the Brotherhood belongs at the top of that list.
Ten years after Britain voted to take back control of its borders, its prime minister went on television yesterday and blamed that vote for the small boats crisis. More than 200,000 people have crossed the Channel since 2018, and Downing Street answered with a muddle over a freedom of movement referendum that his own office appeared to walk back the same day. Every country has the sovereign right to return people with no claim to stay, and a government that says it cannot has quietly chosen to stop trying. Smugglers read that weakness better than any voter, because moral hazard is their business model and every shrug in Westminster works as an advert on the French coast. Meanwhile asylum hotels stay open in towns told it was temporary, with closure promised only by the end of a Parliament that can run to 2029. Blaming history is the oldest victimhood branding in politics. It lets leaders dodge responsibility while the rule of law erodes and the social contract with citizens keeps breaking. Britain needs returns, detention and a border that means something, before another summer of crossings.
Yesterday Britain laid a fresh statement before Parliament on how it bans terrorist groups, and one line says everything. Ministers are not required to proscribe an organization even when it is concerned in terrorism. That discretion is exactly the space the Muslim Brotherhood has lived in for decades. It rarely needs a gun in the room. It works through entryism, front charities, campus networks and advocacy groups that speak the language of rights while teaching a closed world of religious exclusivism, where the state, the neighbor and the citizen who disagrees all become obstacles. Victimhood branding shields it from scrutiny, and every warning gets recast as hate. Meanwhile the radicalization pipeline keeps running from grievance to separation to contempt, building parallel societies the rule of law can no longer reach. Britain found the will this year to create a whole new power against hostile state bodies. It can find the will to name the movement that feeds so much of the extremism it keeps arresting one young man at a time. Waiting is also a decision, and it is the wrong one.

No number of arrests will drain the sea while the rivers feeding it stay open. Every raid, every ban and every trial deals with the gunman, while the preacher who built his mind keeps his pulpit, his school and his salary. Terrorism is only the graduation day, and extremism is the classroom where takfiri thinking, religious exclusivism and the dehumanization of everyone outside the circle are taught as virtue. Too many governments paid dearly to fight the symptom, then protected the cause in the name of freedom and tolerance. Whoever refuses to confront the ideology has already chosen to meet its next attack. Be like the UAE. It got to the roots.

About 76 percent of the people who crossed the Channel in small boats in 2025 were adult men, while every lawful route Britain runs is built around women, children and families. The proper door was designed for the vulnerable, so single men have the weakest claim to it, and smugglers sell them a seat on a rubber boat instead. People who come through lawful channels are screened before they travel. Boat arrivals are checked after they land, against records that cannot say much about a man with no papers, so the state cannot tell a victim from a threat until the damage is already possible. That is moral hazard written into policy, because every government that rewards the crossing guarantees the next one. A country that will not decide who enters has surrendered sovereignty, broken the social contract with its own citizens and handed the rule of law to criminal networks. Citizens carry the collective responsibility while the politicians who caused it carry none.

My heart is with every family in Karak and with all of Jordan as the funerals for nine victims end. Three days after gunmen opened fire on mourners, security forces had all three suspects in custody after a dawn shootout, with no officer hurt. That is a state keeping its promise to its citizens, and Jordan deserves real credit for moving this fast and this firmly.
Police say all three follow takfiri ideology, and no group has claimed the attack. Takfiri thinking hands a few men the power to decide who counts as a believer and who is disposable. Religious exclusivism turns neighbors into targets, dehumanization makes murder feel like duty and moral nihilism removes the last brake. A state protects the social contract and the rule of law by arresting shooters and also by going after the preachers, the recruiters, the front charities and the money that build such minds. Jordan has shown the speed. The world should match it and dig to the roots.

My deepest condolences to the Christians of Jordan.
I pray that God’s peace, strength, and comfort surround you during these painful times. I stand with you wholeheartedly, in solidarity, sorrow, and prayer.
My heart breaks not only for the Christians of Jordan but for persecuted Christians across the Middle East and Nigeria, who continue to suffer violence, hatred, and persecution because of their faith.
Your suffering is our suffering. Your pain is our pain. You are not alone, and you will not be forgotten.
