The FA had a duty of care towards Max. What was his crime? Mildly reacting to a dangerous challenge. Instead of protecting a 16 yr old, you chose to suspend him and promote violent conduct. Thankfully Max didnt suffer a serious injury because apparently thats what it takes.

This is really poor by @FA. The governing body is supposed to protect players. It should be disputing this regulatory commission verdict by members drawn from the FA judicial panel. Max Dowman could have suffered a bad injury to his standing leg from a dangerous challenge which went unpunished. Arsenal 16-year-old shouldn’t have reacted but his frustration was understandable. Some other players might have rolled around and ensured a bad challenge was punished. Dowman didn’t. He doesn’t stay down. The FA should have shown some understanding towards Dowman. Instead, it has suspended him for three games. FA priorities all wrong: tolerating a poor challenge and some weak refereeing but punishing a kid who objected to a bad challenge that could have dealt him a serious injury. Protect players. #AFC

City feared Semenyo had suffered an ACL injury against Ipswich. Fortunately that's not the case but he will be out for the next 6-8 weeks. @9320pod @StevenMcinerney @ItsLB_City

This is another example of just how ridiculous the Manchester City case has made the Premier League this season. That Noni Madueke goal should have been a HUGE moment in the title race. The sort of goal that could define the first half of the season. But instead, we're watching a title race involving a club found guilty of cheating, with the possibility of relegation hanging over them. When City are punished, moments like this will end up meaning absolutely nothing. It's making a complete mockery of the competition.

Manchester City danced with their own notoriety at Anfield and embraced their shame. A club found guilty of cheating is prospering. It was another bad day for the English game dailymail.com/sport/football…

Andy Burnham's intervention in the Manchester City affair was inappropriate, injudicious and badly, badly misjudged. It felt like a nod to the power of nation state ownership of English football clubs. It felt as if the Establishment was going in to bat for its buddies.

Everyone should (and will) be doing this. Rightfully so.
Manchester United have conducted internal assessments of the extent of the economic losses the club has incurred which could be attributed to Manchester City’s breaches of Premier League financial regulations. The Athletic reported earlier on Friday that an independent disciplinary panel had found City guilty of all but one of 115 charges relating to breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules, according to sources briefed on the matter who spoke anonymously as they were not authorised to do so publicly. The lack of attention given to Enzo in this is genuinely baffling. A total shambles.
🚨🎥 Listen to the Manchester Derby officials discussing Haaland’s WRONGFULLY given goal decision… How was this ever allowed to stand?! 😭 #MUFC [via @UtdKev08]

A journalist needs to challenge Howard Webb on this. Tunnel vision is an outcome, not the cause of the failure, as he asserts. The tunnel vision occurred because VAR decided they only needed to assess Haaland BEFORE seeing any replays. This is a total abandonment of VAR’s core principles. That is far more serious than simple tunnel vision. I’d also ask why they then made the choice to explicitly exclude this statement (and only this statement) from the captions. It looks like they’re trying to hide it.
“we just need to do that one” VAR says that right after the ref & lino both say “Haaland” The lino says “Enzo” twice just before that Why does the VAR say this before looking at the full view on replay? And why did they exclude that from the captions!?

Genuinely insane watching this Not a single one of the so called professionals even mentioned that Enzo might be offside, like it didn’t even occur to them Even casuals on football twitter looked at it right away and knew How is that even possible
