Not quite the New Year for me yet, but just want to take this moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas, a joy-filled Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God, a Happy New Year, and many blessings for you in 2024!
I've been in Rome for the month of August for work, and I am privileged to have a private audience tomorrow with Pope Francis. 🙏
Celebrating Mass at the tomb of Mother Teresa in Kolkata on Tuesday morning... I'd be happy to remember your intentions there. Reply or DM 🙏

I'm curious: I wonder what the median # of confessions for a Catholic in the US is... 1 time? 2 times?

If you are a Catholic dismayed by the goings on in Rome--take heart. Focus on what is local. Build up the faith in your home, your parish, your school, your own heart. Do not concern yourself over much about things beyond your reach.
This is what my brother and I have been working on for many months: take an audio recording of a chant, analyze it's pitch changes and correlate it to the notes/neumes of the chant score, for animation and playback. 99% automated now, using hidden markov models and other tricks..
@servantofBene This is one of our back end tools for Square Note, as we try to compile audio recordings of chant.
Matches about 95% of the notes correctly, and the ones it can't confidently align to a sample, it interpolates their position relative to its neighbors.
I used to listen to @patrickmadrid. I still do, but I used to too.

Not a paid promotion, just a happy customer: these posters from @BaritusCatholic are really nice. We'll be using them around our Shrine of St. Joseph's in Santa Cruz, CA.
