Israeli actress Chelli Goldenberg says she's "no longer proud to be Israeli", laments "Jewish terrorism", and asserts that Palestinians have "a right to fight for [their] freedom", before discovering she's live on air. Realizing the backlash she'll face she ends the interview. 😬

“The more I studied Zionism, the more I spent time there, the more I realized that every inch of Israel is Palestine. It was always Palestine.
Jews were never not allowed to live there as equal citizens, as they are in Britain or any other Western country. But the establishment of this state really did mean this massive ethnic cleansing that was not just a one-off.”

And right now our defence minister Helen McEntee is concerned with one war in particular: the war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
McEntee says Irish troops should be deployed to Lebanon as part of a new EU mission involved with not only peacekeeping – but peace enforcement.
Peace enforcement includes joining “coalitions of the willing” and fighting wars of aggression like the 20-year Afghanistan war, and the wars in Iraq, which claimed the lives of well over a million people.
If we consider the ideals the state was founded on, it is clear that Irish soldiers should never be involved in these kinds of missions.
Matt is that you in the Examiner again dogwhistling? You're a fucking disgrace. It's idiots like you pandering to the far right twats who will never vote SF anyway. Way to turn any decent ppl off the fuckjng party though. We'll never get rid of ffg cause of you!

What is accused of? Abuse of office / misfeasance in public office – a minister exercising power for an improper purpose, knowing it will cause harm. Breach of fiduciary duty – the government holds the public purse in trust; committing it to 45 years of debt without Oireachtas

I didn't think FFG could have a worse platform than "let's celebrate the Black and Tans" but at the moment their two key policy planks are "we're giving all your water and power to the data centres" and "we're going to war for Israel"

🗳️ A fight broke out inside a polling station in the Palestinian town of Tira in central Israel on Tuesday, after Arab Knesset member Ahmad Tibi confronted an Israeli settler trying to block Palestinian citizens of Israel from voting, the Palestinian newspaper Al-Quds reported. Video shared by Palestinian politician Mustafa Barghouti shows a tense confrontation inside the station.
🔸 Local sources told Al-Quds that armed settlers were present inside polling stations in Palestinian towns, posing as observers for far-right parties to intimidate voters. The legal rights group Adalah called for urgent action over shortages of Arabic-language ballots in several towns.
🔸 Israel's ruling Likud party also deployed paid teams outside polling stations in Palestinian towns to collect footage and testimony that could be used to challenge the results if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's bloc appears headed for defeat, Haaretz reported.
🔸The operation, estimated to cost millions of shekels, runs separately from official election monitors and reportedly covers nearly every polling station in Palestinian communities.

"Q. How democratic is the Israeli vote – and who is being disenfranchised?
A: About 15 million people live in areas under Israeli control. Just over 7 million Jewish Israelis and 1.7 million Palestinian citizens of Israel live within the country’s pre-1967 borders, known as the “green line”, and have full voting rights.
In the occupied West Bank, more than 500,000 Israeli settlers can vote. They live among 3.1 million Palestinians who are subject to military rule and do not have the right to vote.
In occupied East Jerusalem more than 230,000 Israelis with voting rights live among 350,000 Palestinians who cannot vote.
Two million Palestinians in Gaza, who live under Israeli military occupation, according to the international court of justice, also have no vote."
