Thank you, thank you, @MiriamMargoyles for your audiobook reading of Bleak House by Charles Dickens. It has cheered this household through weeks of lockdown. You are too wonderful for Twitter, but people should know! #genius
A word we will all find very handy today, I feel, having listened to the news.
Word of the day is 'catchfart' (17th century): one who slavishly follows behind their boss and who blows with the political wind.

Difficult to focus on writing when research throws up gems like Dolly Shepherd the pioneering Edwardian parachutist from Potters Bar! She made a career of jumping from a trapeze carried up by a hot air balloon. And lived to be 94.

Excellent word! Lots of latibulation going on in our house on any given day.
Word of the day is ‘latibulate’ (17th century): to hide in a corner in an attempt to escape reality.

I'm so delighted with @HelloSerifim's design for my book - I'm sure it will help it fly.
Here it is! The front cover for @CathBarton1's In the #SweepoftheBay, designed for us by the talented Jennie @HelloSerifim. Cath and I are delighted with it. Once again Jennie has worked her magic... #CoverReveal #bookcover

Oh yes, absolutely guaranteed. Works for me every time.
Thought of a new line for the opening of a novel idea I have. So. The rest of the book will just flow from there, right?

Another beauty for the Old Doors Collection. This one at St John’s college in Cambridge. #amwriting mostly, but also going to carol concerts.

Oh dear. Home made orange peel decorations turned out a little more avant-garde than expected. Just as well I didn’t try making the cardboard tree for them to hang on. #amwriting #hopelessatcrafts

To all the helpful people who put How To videos on YouTube - thank you! I just changed the battery in my car key. It's a small triumph, but I'm enjoying it.

Ever needed proof of the healing power of music? @bengoldscheider took up the french horn age 9 having been diagnosed with an incurable lung condition. 10 yrs later, he’s now an internationally acclaimed horn player & hasn’t had to go near a hospital for 6 years.
