NB: I do my best to stay off here these days - basically popping in for book updates only. I'm more often found on Insta @franceschaigwrites Book details etc at francescahaig.com
Huge thanks to the readers and curators who helped select SALTBLOOD as one of the inaugural 'Good Books' titles, in terrific company. Such a joy to see Mary Read's adventures continue!
UK readers! In March, SALTBLOOD is an Amazon Kindle deal for £3.39 - a steal. It's also coming out in paperback in the UK Thurs (13th). So you have more options than ever for getting your hands on the extraordinary story of Mary Read, pirate. 🏴☠️⚓️🌊🏴☠️amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CLJ8LHX7?r…
Delighted that the upcoming UK paperback of SALTBLOOD is included in the @waterstones pre-order sale, but you have to be quick - valid only to midnight (UK time) tonight (Mon 24th Feb), UK time. Use code PREORDER25 to get 25% off RRP on your paperback pirates 🏴☠️⚓️⚔️🌊 #WPreorder
An unexpected adventure! Huge thanks to the Wilbur & Niso Smith foundation. Warmest congratulations to the other authors on this shortlist, which was so wide-ranging and outstanding.🧵
Because it’s not enough just to write books about the inclusivity & boldness, half of this generous prize will be donated to charities: one that supports trans, gender-diverse and non-binary youth (in honour of Mary Read); & one to provide humanitarian aid in Gaza. 🧵
Only 2 days left to vote for your favourite book(s) on the Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing prize shortlist. If you enjoyed Saltblood, or any of the other wonderful books in this shortlist, you can vote here: bit.ly/3C2usBX Votes close 31st July. Thank you! x

Of the 3 events I'm doing @SydWritersFest next week, only 1 promises a cat: apparently the brilliant @petershambowlo has a friendly 🐈⬛who guards the door. (There'll also be scintillating conversation with @MichaelaKalowsk - but, mainly, CAT). Tix here: swf.org.au/program/season-20…
The lovely @Neil_Denny of @littleatoms kindly had me on the podcast to chat about Saltblood, pirates, history, and more... You can listen here: shows.acast.com/b5fe8d16-751…
